I like Don's crop which would make the remaining black vertical the focal point of the image. Lots to look at with eyes and figures all around. |

The main difference I see between the two images is the whiter water in the NIK, distracting from the handsome bird. The contrast of you've brought out on the diagonal reeds and the backlighting on the bird make this effective as a monochrome. |

Well done! This makes me want to look around at all the sharply detailed buildings, in fact, to visit. I, too, like the framing tree and would crop from the left. When I covered the left third, eliminating the sport court or swimming pool, I noticed the second turret for the first time. Of course, you would then lose the wonderful sky. |

A well photographed image of a very unsettling situation. |

Not familiar with the area, I didn't realize at first that the geometric bits were buildings telling me how large the formations are. Wonderful sharp detail of the layers and striations. Makes me want to go there. Good in mono, but I'd like to see the color. . . Sedona, so red, I presume. Which is the teapot, the mound in front? |

Good suggestion, Don. I could darken both sides. On the left, about half of that space is limb. The top is overhanging leaves, hard to differentiate in the mono, which I would darken. |
