Thank you, Howard. I'll try that tho I'm not sure how to boost the reds. You've removed the haziness of the day. |

Thank you, Ham. I hadn't noticed the sloped shoreline. The south tower does look straight now, but the north one seems to lean ever so slighty to the left. Are the towers not parallel? |

A cute subject (tho I'm a Packers fan, so maybe not next year.) Well composed. Placing your still life on a mirror is an effective technique I plan to try. Well done at f/22. |

A dramatic, layered image, well named. The sunset does look like flames and the clouds, like smoke. Perhaps a Northern CA forest fire. All counterbalanced by the textured foreground. |

Beautiful composition and color contrast. Good that you spotted the potential and waited for autumn's reds. The cloud reflection are beautiful. I would also like to see it cropped at the water's edge creating a panorama of the reflections, possibly cropping some from the right. |

Fascinating, this looks like stone towers I've seen in Europe. I like that you've centered it but from an angle with the leading line of the walkway and the entry at the side. I also like that you left the keystoning, tho might try rotating it a couple degrees counterclockwise. Perhaps a bit of vignetting on the sky. What is the softness element on the top piece? Monochrome was a good choice, and the sepia monotone speaks to its age. When was it built? Could you enter? |

Good vantage point with the tower receding into the community's fog/haze. I like the sunlight accentuating the architecture on the framing buildings to the right. Possibly darken the lightest flat rooftop. Well seen; well captured. You've documented a scene which, in a short time, it might look quite different. |

What a charming town! And how lucky you were to visit your ancestral homeland. . especially if you haven't traveled since and mightn't for awhile. Good vantage point. I love the monochrome of the buildings with the punchy color of the roofs. Then the other bits of color are echoed in the clothes of the people. Unless you are using this for travel, I'd suggest cloning out the white on the bottom right. I know nothing about Montenegro (sp?) but you've inspired me to do some research. |

Thank you, Lance. Happy holidays to you as well.
I see and appreciate your point. I may do as you suggest when I enter it at my club. I would crop it about three steps higher, so it is less vertical and doesn't come to so much of a point at the bottom. I may also make the bottom steps more horizontal.

Nice! Now it has dynamism and seems much more interesting. |

Well seen and captured, especially from a moving boat. Tho I really like all the layers I, too, find it hard to read. But I rather like that the next to the top layer looks like water making it a puzzling image. If your original, uncropped image is large enough, I would suggest tilting it to a diagonal. It might also be interesting if just the center blue and white section were colored with the rest in monochrome. |

Well done. I, too, thought at first that you were driving. I like the blurring of the scene with its lights and leading lines. More effective in B&W, especially in the version with the red sleigh and reindeer. Merry Christmas to you and all as well. |

Yes, great contrast for B&W conversion. Is this detailed plumage on a chick or a fierce looking, protective parent? I haven't been successful with NIK's control points. Are they the reason that some of the white tips, both feathers and twigs, look glowy at the ends? Good capture. |

Clever, appealing, and unusual. Playful indeed. I like "Original 2," which I assume is the actual glass art. Your manipulation looks quite busy in color, but in B&W, which I would ordinarily prefer, the out of focus bits are, to me, unsettling. I especially like the area near where all the loops join. |

Without the explanation, to me this tells an ominous story especially the darkness at the back and the tree branch grabbing at the man from the side and one reaching down from above. Given the explanation, I understand the story, like the positioning of the man and agree the road could be darkened. You were fortunate to be invited along for the opportunity to photograph the burn. Of course, living in N CA, I've seen many pictures of uncontrolled burns and even experienced one myself. |

I like the bird's elegant stance and position in the frame. Also the splashing of the surf. Good details in the whites unless that is noise on his body rather than feather detail? Your capture lends itself well to monochrome with the bird's stark contrast, but I also like the repeated yellows and tans in your original. |
