Yes, in the moment and serene. I agree with the others' comments. |

I like the grace and delicacy of your capture as well as Stuart's darkening of the background. |

I like the reflections of sky and way the curve of the horizontal oak? limb frames the distant path and bright meadow. So I would crop some of the sunlit portion from the bottom and almost down to that branch from the top. Nice capture. What did you change with Snapseed? |

You've made it pop! Thank you, Howard!
I could have made the fence straight by just tipping the whole thing in a crop. But by the time I realized that, it was too tight, close to the bottom edge of the frame. I didn't want to go back by deleting all the cloning and changes I had made later. A good case for non-destructive editing.
I tried four times to send this as a reply to Howard, but it keeps going below Ham's comment. |

Yes, Howard, the flowing lines are beautiful along with the flower's luminance and colors as well as the detail you captured. I like the bokeh which I might darken just a little and get rid of the bit on the left edge. Maybe darken the base of the stem, too? Lovely image. |

I like the hand, and its story and significance. You have just enough shadow detail to show the base. The yellow-orange clouds contrast with the blue sky and conveniently merge behind the sculpture. Is there a halo around the hand or is it my eyes? |

Peter, this is wonderful! The reflection in the lake, like a hole in the snow, is unexpected and beautiful. The trees marching up the hill on the left draw my eye out of the frame, so I would crop at the bottom of the mountain. Possibly the same amount on the right to further draw attention to the lake. |

Wonderful, Jerry! It reminds me that years ago in the era of film and my B&W darkroom, I did a night series of buildings. This is extremely successful because of its high contrast, wet pavement, and reflected signs, jus what drew you to the scene. I whould darken the area at the bottom left but like the starbursts, especially now with renewed talk of UFOs. |

What a fascinating structure. There's something spiritual about it standing alone there, reminding me of an ancient prayer monument. Like the others, I have questions about who, and why. Do you get back there or know somebody who could tell you how long it lasted? Beautifully constructed and well seen, capturing the textures of the stones, beach, water, and clouds. |

I like the pattern and texture to this a "staircase." Your contrasted monochrome version is definitely an improvement on the original. Never heard of the Petrified Forest NP but now want to go there. Meanwhile I'll be more cognizant of the possibility of shells as interesting subjects. I like your original crop, which draws me in plus some lightening of the top shadow. |

The gears do look large, and shot from below, majestic. I would darken the bright post on the right, not crop it, b/c I like the old building, which I feel adds to the story. I would clone out the bright, modern bits on the left. I don't understand why the sky is dark, then light behind the gear, then dark again. Was it accessible to photograph from the other side minus the phallic symbol? |

I, too, like the variety of architectural styles. I'm partial to the more traditional, so appreciate the light building with its cupola framed by the dark ones. Also like the details of the tall older building in the left background. Interesting area, well- captured, and perfect for monochrome. |

I agree with Jerry . . . none better. Wonderfully sharp differing textures which I probably wouldn't have noticed in color. I have tried to capture the whole falls, top to the mist at the bottom, and I probably didn't have a wide angle lens at the time. I also waited for a person in a red shirt on the bridge. You beautifully captured the important portion, the three falls, the water looking different on each. A good lesson: 1/5 sec seems perfect, and I need to learn to use control points in NIK. Where is the green filter found? I assume was in post, not on your camera. |
