This is beautiful Neal! I agree that the front segment is a bit soft, but your version without Bev's smudge is reminiscent of the Dutch floral paintings. This makes me want to get out my black velvet and try some still lives. What a wonderful project that would have been for the past thirteen months! |

Steve, your image is, as always, masterfully conceived and rendered. But the patience to create a trawler out of matchsticks is beyond the pale. |

Wonderful detail on the subject! As Ham said, who knew? I doubt that your neighbors would object to your cutting down the soft dandelion on the right which obscures your subject. |

I seek out old buildings, and you have definitely found one. I agree with straightening and extra space all around, if possible. Would suggest you come back another time of day without the mottling shadows on the left. |

Wonderful capture! I agree with giving them more space in front. |

They got switched. The original is actually the one with the bright sun spots which I tried, not very successfully, to tone down in what I intended to be my May image. My question was about that issue. |

No I hadn't tried B&W. Thank you for the suggestion. |

A very sweet picture. The bird's pose is charming. Catchlight, reflection, ripples, with bird well positioned in the frame. All well done. |

Howard, I never imagined such a colorful bird! So sharp. . . feathers and catch light. Love the water droplets of this decisive moment. Congratulations! I'm surprised the background is soft at f/8. Is that b/c the 400mm makes it seem closer? Cutsie title. |

I like the landscape with the wispy clouds contacted with the solid, shadow sculpted rocks. I'd like to see the jeep pink, in situ , either in the original, color image or with the rest of the scene B&W. |

I meant the butte is naturally sloping as evidenced by the rest of the image being level. A road trip sounds like fun about now. |

I, too, thought the butte was sloping, which in fact it is, while your horizon on the right isn't. The sepia toning and border add a pleasant old time-y feel which the color version lacks. I like your capture of the falling rain. |

I, too, like the mules, your subject. I like the remaining people on the right after cropping out the signpost. I think their presence supports it's being a small town holiday parade. |

The white tree is unusual with limbs so close to the ground and seeming to imprison the ice house within its maze of branches. Perhaps Hansel and Gretel are inside. Cropping from the sides would strengthen that effect. But as is, it does look isolated. |

What an amazing project to try to save the elephants. Such detailed, clever work, times 30! I like your image. Is that considered a macro? You've certainly created an abstract with a full range of tones, unidentifiable, had you not told us. |

What a beautiful blossom. You really captured the interesting detail within, which I'd never noticed before. How lucky you are to have a dogwood tree. Altho my iPhone 11 has a setting, portrait, which creates a soft background, I didn't realize the 6 did that. I prefer the colored version. |
