I like the partially shoveled sidewalk leading between the trees. And especially the delicate patterns of the major tree, limbs enhanced by the snow on the branches. Ham said it, it looks like and engraving. |

Beautifully positioned capture, Bob. I agree with removing the dust spots, adding space to the right, and lightening the wings a bit. |

I like the bright red and the sharpness of the nearby ice crystals and icicle. Living with your current winter weather, you might find it hard to believe that anybody might long to see and photograph ice. |

What beautiful birds, Subhash, sharp and detailed with a complementary background. Did a little research and learned, "This bird is very active and an excellent singer but very secretive and difficult to see" which makes it even more impressive that you captured it. I've never seen one, perhaps because they aren't native to N America and sell for$1155. |

A charming winter scene. I'd crop at the base of the light post. The masked woman pulling the sled makes the picture. |

Thanks everybody. Removing the tree on the right is an easy crop as is the light on the left. Don't know how I missed them. I did actually darken the woman a bit. cropping off the half car on the left is also a good suggestion as I would retain all of the adjacent bldg. |

What a beautiful child. There's something haunting about her expression and the lighting. Good detail in her hair and catch lights plus another reflection in her eye. Hand held at 1/30sec and no noise at ISO 6400! Quite an accomplishment. |

I, too, like the well-trodden trail. Having the person there makes the image. I agree with Stan about cropping to bring focus on him but wouldn't want him centered vertically as well. I would clone out the branches to the left of the tree. Monochrome was a good choice; I'd like to walk in that snow. |

Jerry, I like the extreme contrast and that you were able to bring back the detail of the wagon while leaving the rest of the interior dark. I see detail on the wooden doors then back thru the darkness to the brick chimney and slats of light on the far wall. With the bright lines of light on the floor, my eye goes round and round enjoying the the image with no need for detail within. It seems sharp to me. |

A beautifully photographed, unique, triangle building. You prompted me to research both the architect, Jon Jerde, and the story of the mall itself. Built in 1985, on 6.5 city blocks, controversial design for a mall yet busy and successful. But gradually its anchor stores closed, then most of the others. Demolition began in May 2020 to make way for a tech center. You have preserved it in this wonderful photo which I like in both color and monochrome. |

Immediately I recognized this from my 2018 trip there to photograph architecture. Unable to repeat that for Chicago Architecture Center's Open House Chicago last October. Hopefully again this year or next. I do see a woman's profile here I'd not have recognized but for your angle which also shows a contrast between the smoothness of the metal and the interesting patterns of the windows beyond the diagonal wires. Like your social commentary on that era, too. Thank you for including the Art Institute's maquette. |

This is beautiful, John! Perfect settings to get the silkiness yet power of the water. I can almost hear its sound. The water-smoothed dark ledge on the right is a foil for the silk and foam. |

Thank you, Lance. I am even more appreciative of your comment when I learn that you are PSA's B & W Mentor. Still, ever since my darkroom days, monochromes are my favorites. Not much more worthwhile from that project. But I appreciate your encouragement and will likely continue to explore white on white. |

Thank you both. Lance, I was unfamiliar with the camera so didn't control the settings, but I like the graininess on this particular image, too. |

I like the shapes, textures, and composition. Well captured at those settings, hand held! The darkness and high contrast add to the grungy look. Glad they were no longer processing meat by the time you took this. |
