Alan, I really like the scene and your Polanski-inspired partial person, but especially
the muted palette. Thank you for describing how you selectively returned color to various objects. |

Good, sharp detail and D of F, Howard. He is certainly intent and rather fierce looking. |

I like that you captured the bee seemingly hovering in space. If you had cropped a bit from the right but kept the same height, still giving it space to fly and making the image vertical, would that have changed the focus? What a shame about your camera. We do have expensive toys. |

Really a beautiful, delicate image for the season. One nit, the sliver of lightness on the left edge. Otherwise, perfect |

It's been said already: Wonderful sharp mage, eyes, feather detail. Even Howard's crop. I really like it, up close and personal with the snowy owl. |

Well done, Jerry. The detailed plumage plays off the soft ripples. I like very vertical position of his beak, with the reflection creating an interesting "negative space." |

Familiar with Turing's story through the 2014 movie "The Imitation Game,"I really like the way you have combined the office with the decoding machine. Moreso b/c I was in a creative group and could never think of images to composite. Clever idea, well executed. I also appreciate your description of layer placement to meld the two images. |

An interesting sculpture captured from the angle intended re the archway. I think another time of day without the dappled lighting, removing part of the tree as suggested, and/or softening the other elements would help me see the sculpture better. |

Initially I thought this needed more contrast. But with your description of what and where it is, this is a very effective rendering: low contrast and sepia toning. The detail of the building's textures and the rocks in front tell the story of another time and place. The centered door, square format and selected border are perfect. |

Don, I like the patterns in the water, dramatic in B & W, and could peruse the image quite a while looking at their variety. I had seen a shape similar to your branch repeated three time in the image of a lake, rendered as the Loch Ness Monster. I find your single branch, dark and without detail, less interesting than the water. |

John, I like the textures and unusual details which you have captured. The fact that there is no foliage, just the barn captured cleanly at a low angle, makes it heroic. My husband and I like to photograph old structures as we travel. Glad to know just where you saw this. We had planned to go to Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison in Oct. The next time we're able to, perhaps we'll find your barn. |

Thank you, John. Interesting additional time-tilt. Altho I don't use LR, I could have achieved the same roadless result with PS. |
