What a lovely play of light and shadow! Having just joined a monochrome group, I'm perusing them all. I really like arches, and this unusual series is somehow evocative. Post processing well done for a complete tonal range. |

I see two faces here, pareidolia. One uses the O. R, and symbol. The other includes the latter as the nose, the headlights as eyes, and the visit-to-the-dentist mouth. Fun. |

Yes, a sign of these melancholy times to which you've added brightness and color, appropriate for an art class. I like the unmasked woman watching the masked students and the classical triangle of her, the teacher and the boy in fluorescent green, the latter two looking toward one another. Actually a circular view including the girl in front. I usually dislike out of focus foregrounds, but those two boys are just supporting characters, so it's fine. |

This is beautiful, Peter. My eye travels around to each of the sunlit elements. The coolness of the fog makes this a refreshing escape from COVID during our current hot spell. To me, it looks sharp throughout. |

I like the meandering leading line. It reminds me of an Ansel Adams image where the Snake River looks like silver, something I have never achieved. |

This is amazing, Gunter: the position, detail, sharpness, DofF. It could be in a naturalist book. What type of owl is this? What is that in front of the forward wing? |

The blue fur and whiskers along with the painterly effect really sets this apart from other zoo captures. I like the inclusion of the habitat but would tone down the leaves and grass nearest him just a bit. He looks young and approachable, not fierce. I would hang this in my grandson's room. |

8x telephoto! I wish I had known about that. Just a month ago I got an iPhone 11 for its portrait capability meaning an out of focus background. But I know your 8x would be of more use than my 5x. |

I, too, wonder what he's looking at, which causes the viewer to pause and study the image. The brightness of the sky above his head draws my eye from the man. I would tone that down or, perhaps, lower the contrast on the entire background. |

I agree with Jerry. Mary's sunglasses add to the casualness of the moment , but if she were posing for me, I would ask her to remove them as they distract from her face. |

Thanks Jerry. I like that It's asymmetrical, but maybe if it were more so, it would look intentional. Actually, it was a grab shot as the group quickly walked past. |

What is this interesting flower? Wonderful capture of three bees, Stuart! I know they move fast. I wish that at lest the closest two were sharp enough to see their detail, lost in the shallow depth of field. |

Your hibiscus is lovely, John, in both color and mono. I think the monochrome conversion creates a more delicate flower. The water drops were a gift. You have done well in both your capture and post processing to show such detail in the whites. I might have put a slight, light grey stroke to keep the image from blending into the background, but that might have detracted from the blossom which seems to be emerging from the BG. |

This is very interesting and unusual, Jerry. I find the blues and greys of the original very appealing. I can actually recognize it as dappled light. I believe your intention was to create something mysterious and unrecognizable, with a complete tonal range. In that case you have succeeded. |

Love this, Jerry! My kind of graphic image. It's much better in monochrome. The girls' faces are barely distinguishable in either version which is fine b/c they are secondary to the varied shadow patterns. Well seen! |
