34 Jul 20 Comment Brilliant again, Jan. Yes, it's Blursday, and I can't tell whether we're coming or going. Your imagination, knowledge of all your tools, post processing skill, willingness to experiment, and patience to find and combine all those disparate elements into a story for our times all all inspire me. If only I had a fraction of that. Do you have all types of elements in separate folders to peruse when you search, or do you remember them, that you have a background from a trip to Australia, for example? Jul 27th
34 Jul 20 Comment I love the subtle treatment of the sky and moon, the delicacy of the entire image. Something about the dragon fly seems not quite right to me, but I don't know whether it's the size or the location. In any case, you have created such a sweet, charming story for your lovely granddaughter. Jul 27th
34 Jul 20 Comment A well done "painting" Georgianne. Thank you for the detailed description of your process. So much to learn from here. Jul 21st
34 Jul 20 Comment Well done again, Alan. I, too, think the shadows on the top windows look a bit off, but then, it's surrealism. I like the tension and further surrealism of the opposing shadows. How fortunate you are to have built up a file of interesting people from around the world. Jul 21st
34 Jul 20 Comment The muted tone gives a feeling of calm, quiet meditation, a pleasant reprieve from all the daily noise of Zoom and TV news. This place or Steve's garden would be a lovely escape. Your conversion of the windows is masterful. Jul 21st
34 Jul 20 Comment Complex and masterful. I certainly have nothing to add.

34 Jul 20 Reply I didn't start out to make a pinwheel. Unlike you, I just play and see what I get. I don't have other plug-ins, my PS has a lot of filters that don't open. Time to upgrade and start, hopefully, producing at a level worthy of group 34. Jul 13th
34 Jul 20 Reply Jan, I really like your result better. Always partial tho B&W. And, now that we've passed the 4th, no reason for the red, white, and blue. Jul 13th
34 Jul 20 Reply My husband saw the fish, too. LOL. Maybe I'll submit it with that title at my club.
The scarf did well last week in monochrome. Simple, maybe minimalist, but the judge liked the shapes.

37 Jul 20 Reply How did you find the settings? Jul 27th
37 Jul 20 Comment As these priests look none too happy that you are photographing them, I wonder what exchange followed. Yes, over-processed, but that gives a picture book, unreal feeling to the image, which I think you intended. Jul 27th
37 Jul 20 Reply Hadn't thought of that, Ham. While I'm at home worrying about COVID and now that Gov Newsom is preparing for wildfire season, quakes haven't even occurred to me. Jul 13th
37 Jul 20 Comment I, too, like the unique perspective, showing the statues' context. I enjoyed the texture of the wall and especially like the taller pink flowers until Gunter pointed out that they do look "planted." I would repeat, modify, change them in PS. Then, of course, that would no longer be an honest documentary of the scene. Jul 11th
37 Jul 20 Comment Captured at a good time of day, the shadows emphasize the contours of the hills. Well composed, the mountain contrasts with the size of the sparse buildings. Yet their color echos the white snow. Jul 11th
37 Jul 20 Comment A very powerful, dramatic image. In addition to the sun's rays, your low position emphasizes the grass, putting the barn in context. Unique shot from the Palouse, unlike any I've ever made nor seen, most of which show the patchwork of fields. Beautiful. Jul 11th
37 Jul 20 Comment How courageous, handheld 15 shot with HDR bracketing, which I assume you were able to set to occur automatically. I like the result with the front oval line containing the pond and echoing the hill in the background. They bring my eye round and round in the scene. Jul 11th
37 Jul 20 Comment I like the color palette and the play of light in the three zones. I would crop in very slightly from the right to get rid of the top brown triangle and the brightness below it. More successful than my attempts to do a straight vertical swipe. Jul 11th
