This says "Munch" to me, especially the reflections. |

Your background is good. I agree with moving the lantern to lighten his face. Steve's reshaping of the grinch's face and reddening his eyes are somewhat helpful. But the main problem was there at the outset and is not your fault. It's the model: too charming, gentle, and innocent-looking to convince me he's a grinch. |

Another imaginative, well-executed creation. I love your incorporating those divergent buildings of Florence into a single view. The strong lines of the side buildings draw me in to enjoy your humorous details, the bird, the added clock (with a different time) the steam punk blimp. Masterful use of the tools, for adding the window lights, the fog, the overall texture to unify the whole. |

I appreciate you detailing your process for placing the couple into the camellia. I agree that it's very bright, but prefer their look in the original to their ruddiness in your second version. I do like Candy's suggestion for toning down the brightness of the flower. |

Love the daffodils. Your creation of the background was, yes, very creative. Looking forward to more news from your garden. |

This one I like. Good "story" here, skillfully told in pleasing, cheerful hues. Tho you didn't respond to my comments on the other, I thank you, Alan, for switching. |

This is absolutely beautiful, Candy. Even if I had all those plug-ins, I strongly doubt I could have done this. He's stately; his background is calm and soothing. Just what I needed today.

Nice positioning and a wonderfully detailed capture of the feather pattern of this bird in flight. I'd never heard of a zone tailed hawk. I agree with lightening the darkest portions and eliminating the white outline if possible. |

Later: I see you springtime iris emerging from the drab background as the promise of a better, brighter stage ahead. |

Wonderful action shot capture. I agree that it's a bit over saturated, perhaps HDR? At first glance, I thought the woman in the ad was part of the game. A think Howard's suggestion to blur the background would help but don't know whether that's allowed in Journalism. |

You have captured the warm relationship between the two. The lighting on her face adds to the charm of the scene. B & W was a good choice, letting us focus on their faces rather than their garments. I might have slightly toned down her white hair band and the highlights in his necklace. But that is nitpicking. Really a lovely image. |

Wonderful leading lines, especially the central one with the beautiful reflection also those in the clouds. Your handling of the darkening and brightening give the scene a sense of serenity as well as power. I'd like to hang this in my home. |

A technically good shot of this beautiful little flower. I like its positioning and brightness against the monochrome background. I would get rid of the green stem on the right. The white vignette does enhance the vividness of the flower, but I think it's too bright at the bottom corners. An uplifting image for today's situation.

I really like the the contrasting colors also patterns of the wood and the texture of both the water at the top of your image and in the splashes. The problem for me is that my eye is drawn back and forth between the wood and the whiteness of the splashes. Maybe the solution is to put on your wellies and get very low to catch a wave coming over the wood , so that the lines lead the eye into the wood. The subject is definitely worth revisiting if it's still there when you can go out. |

This is a powerful image of a powerful engine. I like what you have achieved with your post processing and its blue cast. Thank you for the details. I can see just enough of the snow-capped mountains in the background to give it a sense of place.
Well done.
