You definitely show motion, Steve. I like the background texture and pastels. They are witches, barely anchored to the ground, which I think was your intention by reducing the shadows. |

Thank you for sharing the story, Jan, of the way the image kept evolving from your original concept. The final image is intriguing, drawing me back thru the lovely building you've created to the woman contemplating climbing the final steps into the sky. And I continue to look around and around at all of the component parts. Beautiful. |

You started with a good image of a charming subject. Here, too, I'm unfamiliar with all of your filters, but I enjoy the way you isolated him while retaining just enough of the foliage. Nice textural effect, too. |

I like what you've done here, Georgianne. Lots of work! especially with all the flowers! Entertaining and busy, just like the festival. I probably would have added to the bottom of the image, cloning in the ground and creating the rest of his right foot. You've done a lot with Topaz which I don't have nor understand (and should probably purchase.) The diagonal lines on the ground, the horizontals at the top, and verticals at the sides bewilder me, but they do add to the busyness, which was your goal. |

Never mind the stroke. Your nicely textured backdrop doesn't blend with our black space. |

Clever, fun idea skillfully executed. All the elements are well thought out and put together. His hat, outfit and expression along with the monochrome create an old-timey image. I, too like the sparkles and wonder how you did them. I'd add a very narrow shite or grey stroke to set it off from our black background.
(Unintended consequence: You gave us an idea for our wannabe magician's ninth birthday present. There actually is a "Magic for Dummies" which we ordered along with a magic kit. Thanks.) |

That you for the suggestions, Steve. Will try that b/4 submitting to my club. I also could give the man a reflection, since the flamingo has one, or add rain, in which case neither would have reflections. As it is now, it lacks consistency. |

You were in the right position to get this strong, powerful composition. Wonderful detail and effective B&W processing. Decisive moment to get the steam which makes the picture. |

Welcome to the group, Peter. i agree that the shallow depth of field and B&W treatment are good. Also the need for more space the top. My eye goes from the steering wheel to all the other circles on the dash then back up to the wheel. Nice. For that, I would also have left a bit more space where the lowest instrument is cropped. |

The painterly effect grounds us in the front greenery the softens my travels back thru the image, wanting to explore the hidden area to the right. |
