Your granddaughter is lovely. I like the idea of a girl or woman or baby in a flower. (See Anne Geddes' work.) But cutting off or blending the head is a challenge. I would prefer to see her face in the center of a more symmetric flower like a daisy or rose. |

Jan, this is wonderful! As always, something entirely different and original from what you've showed us before. Thank you for the instructions. The time and patience you put into the background and each charming bird, amazing! It certainly broadens our definition of Creative! Love it! |

Charming. Love what you've done compositing the many elements. Lots of work! Just enough oil paint. I, too, would be interested in the source of the other elements. What is detail extractor? |

I prefer the original with the ducks silhouetted against the beautiful sunset reflections. You have effectively reached your goal of transforming it into a high contrast study of geometrics with the two more colorful living elements. |

I like the idea of the ghostly historical references for July 4. I agree with the suggestions above re cropping and anchoring the flags. Otherwise, well conceived and well executed. |

Tho I don't usually like your Goths, Steve, this one appeals to me. Maybe it's the striking black/white, red/blue colors as well as the contrast of her placid face and the busyness within. , too, think that the left split makes her face too wide. Agreeing with Alan, I might omit it entirely, (not only b/c the green face and the others there are particularly menacing.) Lots of work and an effective result, tho, fortunately, I've never experienced a splitting headache. |

Nice view into the "heart" with good detail of the stamen and pistil structures.
But beyond the botany, the lighting and striations on the petals are beautiful. Sad, too, tho, b/c the fallen petal says it's at the end of its life. |

Beautiful. Would not have guessed it was a monsoon as it looks so serene and dreamy. It would be a very calming image to hang on my wall to view on hectic days. |

Lovely! Repeating the others: Too bad about the light pollution. How did you decide on the settings? |

Subhash, I didn't realize that reducing the ISO deepens colors. Thank you. |

Tho I grew up in Green Bay, I never got up to Door Co for one of these dinners. Like your selective retention color on the two main subjects.
Want to get into photography. Need to investigate selecting a frame from a video. Visited your blog. Enjoyed the old barns and recognized some of the Chi scenes. We went there last fall just to photograph the architecture. My husband, a train buff, especially liked the L images. |

Thanks for inviting me to view your group, Dave. Good modification of an interesting image. Like the results you folks are getting with your phones. All I have is Snapseed, and I don't use it. Have invited a photographer to speak to my club but not until next year.

Theresa, I'd never heard of this monument. Really like the horses silhouetted against the sunset. Well done. Would get rid of the transmission tower, crop it into a pano and hang it over my sofa.
