Before submitting this to my club, I softened the hedge and eliminated the bricks. It didn't receive even an HM, and was out of town, unable hear the critique.
Brut on to learning and growth. I did not take your other suggestion because I use the quick selection tool, which cannot,to my knowledge, be "feathered." How do you select your images so they " blend into the background better, so they don't look as pasted on"? |

Interesting story about McClellanville, Georgianne. Your image grabs my attention in its bold simplification and deletion of detail, tho your process was anything but simple. Well done! Thank you.
Are your husband's "block print" images posted in one of these groups?

Denise, she is lovely, and the addition of the powder adds makes her etherial. I agree on the black background and Steve's stroke which I often add to offset my images. Also with with Jan's suggestion. It does look as tho the powder is a continuation of her movements and she could be throwing it. Where do you find a powder brush? |

Welcome to our group, Alan. I've admired your surrealistic images in group 54 and previously in 21. My interest in the genre has increased since the Magritte exhibit here in SF in Sept. I like that this presents a good, cohesive story enhanced by the red playing against the monotone. |

Candy, I prefer the eerie look of the blue. Of course Steve's Gothic bride suits the ghostly scene, too. But the darkness that was there in your version makes me wonder what's going on inside, especially knowing it's a prison. |

A masterful job, again, Steve. I agree on the light spots, and find the red distracting, so prefer the BW. Again your workflow is Greek to me. I must resurrect NIK and get Topaz to play in this league. Some "characters" would help, too. |

Thank you for your suggestions, Steve. Will do those before entering it. I thought that I could make the shadows, especially hers, more believable by copying her, painting black, and distorting to show the same shape but on the horizontal surface. |

Never saw rental bikes there. The old cars you've seen serve as taxis, which we rode twice, plus once in the car of somebody to whom we brought supplies. It was held together with tape. Posted: 02/24/2019 19:23:48 |

Good catch, Gunter. I hadn't noticed the discrepancy, just went for the colors. My husband says the ones he photographed were pretty outdated. |

OMG! What an amazing accomplishment then well documented. In my opinion, the mist adds to the distance and cold. |

What a beautiful, unusual bird. Perfect capture: the composition, speed, detail, and a perfectly complementry-colored background. |

Gunter, I love the contrasts of the yellow and blue, the black and white, the warmth and the cold, the exterior from the interior, natural shapes and the manufactured geometric forms. Well seen, composed, and captured. I'd crop a bit off the sky. |

I don't even attempt birds in flight so admire the fact that you caught this. The splash where he took off adds to the story. Thank you for introducing me to a bird I've not seen before. |

Wonderful nature shot, Peter. f.5, good choice. I second all that Gunter said.
