I, too, like the black background which sets him off and makes his coloring elegant.
Agreeing, too on the space ahead of him and the colored stroke. When I do one, I usually use a color from my image to tie it all together.
Congratulations to Ned on his victory! What fun it will be for you to watch his career. |

Jan, this is amazing. Having seen a Rene Magritte exhibit in San Francisco last week, I am newly appreciative of surrealism. How fortunate you are to have all these subjects, and you have composed and composited them skillfully, angled and submerged into the sand perfectly. The man on the ladder is a wonderful addition.
I prefer the sketched version, too.
Congratulations on your other excellent composite, Wanderlust, on the Members' Showcase. You've skillfully told her story. |

Beautiful girl. Interesting treatment, but I agree about the texture on her face. The original showed more texture and highlights in her hair, and not the grey patch we now see on the right. Good transformation of the background. |

Toby has a forlorn look. You've done a wonderful job enhancing his face just enough, and giving the rest a treatment that brings his face forward. The colors and textures of the background are excellent. |

I, too, agree with your wife, Phil. I looked at the picture on your bio. You are much better and healthier looking than this. But I do admire your curiosity and interest in experimenting and using yourself as the subject. |

Nothing further to add, Steve. This is wonderful, the epitome of compositing. |

Rodeos seem seem so challenging, Grace. You've captured peak action with sharp focus. Love the flying chaps on what looks to be a very young cowboy. 'Twas good to remove the background distractions; I would have cloned in some texture. |

Thanks to all. This image was more successful here than at my club. I could submit it again, but your positive comments are enough. |

I like the varied elements you've captured together and the fact that there's something of interest in each third. At first I followed the leading lines (and lines of colorful people) to the beautiful, holy temple. Then I saw the fish. well done. |

Good capture, Peter. I think you got the exposure time just right. Your textural detail of the flowers and mountain is complimented by the softness of the fog and clouds. I also like the colorful sections separated by the black and white. Nice bit of sunlight on the mountain. A beautiful image. |

A wonderful subject for a stitched pano. The sharpness captures good detail. The varied shapes, heights and colors make me want to visit and photograph some of Chicago's outstanding architecture. You captured the single boat is in just the right position, and while perusing the image, I find the others on the right. I agree with Gunter on cropping off some of the Windy City's water but do love it's color repeated in several buildings. |

Love the brightness of the tertiary color scheme and the way you've "simplified" the foliage to contact with the sharpness of the poppies. My eye goes to the four in front, especially the two in the center, then counter clockwise, so I might clone out the one on the bottom right. But it's a cheerful, summer composition just as is. |
