Since I still struggle to find images to composite, I especially appreciate your creativity here, Jan. Clever composition. Well done. I would prefer emphasizing the monochrome/sepia, aged effect with pale yellow or golden daisies with darker centers. I like the way the hand moves forward from under the texture on the arm, adding three dimensionality. Perhaps add some shadow beneath the arm and/or a lighter one under the hand? |

A very aged-looking result. I like the coloring and the texture you selected. I,too, would remove the texture from the key. You could sharpen it and still have its own, original, aged texture. |

Your flamingo is beautiful with all the detail in his feathers. His contrasting color stands out and the little pink flowers echo it. I, too, would desaturate the rest of the image a bit. You would still have your three focal points. Or even eliminate the yellow flower. I think you important message and story would still be conveyed, especially with the help of your title. |

Phil, your image reminds me of Russian stacking dolls. Congratulations on even noticing the object three rooms away and its potential for an image. The coolness of the blue is very effective. What did you do in PS to straighten the doors? And yes, your titles reiterate the visual journey through the rooms. |

Candy, I love the minimalistic crop and your color selection, the bright flower against the beautiful, neutral background reflecting some of the lily's colors. I agree about leaving the image to read left to right. |

She is my favorite of all the goths you've done since I've joined the group.
She is lovely and approachable. I agree with all Jan said above. Agreeing with Phil, I preferred the darker tones of her hat in Original 1, but it's a nit re the success of the entire project. You can do my makeup any time. I love the subtlety of your post processing. |

Thank you, Georgianne. I especially like that you lightened the rays making the "tunnel" more prominent. I had wanted to do that but had trouble selecting at the edge where they met the tunnel. I've never used those adjustment layers and plan to try them. |

Update: Thank you, everybody, for your input. The part I omitted was that just outside the door of the gallery is a statue featuring stylized depictions of human genitalia. I have sent a letter to the heads of the art commission as well as the director of the city's parks and rec commission, who initiated the removal,
requesting
* a revision of their vague standards to make them consistent with standards applied to all of the city's public arts
*a review process involving people in the arts community
*compensation for the lost opportunity to sell my image.
We'll see what happens.

His flying toward you must have made this particularly challenging. Wonderful detail on the feathers, and the fish is certainly a bonus. Just a bit of a halo around the wings. Tho I don't shoot birds, I've heard that extra sky above them gives room for flight, but that's not what you were showing here. |

Nice sharpness to the flowers and raindrops. It almost look too perfect to be real. Beautiful complementary closes, and I like it centered. |

How unusual to depict a flower in B&W. A very creative concept. You certainly achieved your goal of showing us lines, shapes, tones and textures; more than one would have seen in a color version. It has a similar look/feeling to Peter's cathedral. |

I think the speed of your capture adds to the fall's power more than silkiness would.
All of the spray also says "powerful." The near symmetry of the cliff and the cave creates a good frame. Well done. |

Subhash, I LOVE the minimalist quality of this with its three beautiful colors and simple elements. Few would have seen the potential of this faceless gesture. Mysterious. I want to know who he is, what he looks like, what he's thinking. The folds of the robe keep my eye moving around the image. Congratulations. |

We've never gotten to Barcelona, so I don't know whether the cathedral has the soaring height and feeling your photo gives. Really beautiful! Also commending the sharpness, angle and success under the lighting conditions which the others have mentioned. How do you reduce noise. In PS? |

Thanks, Stephen. I am pursuing this with the Lamorinda Arts Association which runs the gallery. Perhaps I'll post the results here.
One suggestion was that the remedy I request is to have it hung again. However, it's already gone to our club's regional body for judging against winners from 15 other clubs. |

Thanks, Gunter, for your suggestion. I'd like it cropped from the top to put the apple 1/3 down, tho not quite square. |
