Really beautiful, Christine. I like both the crispness of the original and the softness of your version. I'm glad you kept the center detail while softening the petals. |

I, too, like the contrast: black & white. red & green, but would have spaced them farther apart. |

Your treatment does make the egg stand out more. A judge at my club thought it was a spoon. Now it's obvious that's a shadow. |

A fascinating idea, Georgianne, well executed with a LOT of work. I especially like your sky, the color of the tree, the atmosphere around it, and the sphirot. Like Stephen, I would have liked the man in robes, but I understand your intent. Are you a kabbalist? |

Candy, this is creative and interesting and reminds me of fuzzy caterpillars. I prefer the crisp, clean image, Original 2, which I would have set off with just a one or two pixel stroke of the brightest chartreuse. Your original original, the unadorned palm frond, is lovely, too. |

I second all of Candy's comments. I don't like the goths, but we're not supposed to. You certainly achieved your goal in making Dracula even more menacing. |

White snow owl with snow. Nice. I, too, like the detail you've captured on his beak, eyes and belly. Good depth of field. |

I like this and probably also would as Grace suggests cropping it. . . an entirely different image. A good and surprising choice to make a garden picture in B&W.

O.K. Jim, it's time that I stop expressing my envy each month of your exploration of these beautiful, wild locales. On to the photo. This is well composed with good detail. The darkness on the left doesn't bother me, allowing me to focus on the upper right and the reflection. However, I see a slight halo around the left peak. Love the fog and the pink could. . . a mistical image. |

Well done, Peter. Liking the sharpness and details and the capture of the 3 dimensionality, I agree with the others on the triangle and the very dark portions, especially the one on the right. However, I suspect lightening it would result in a peculiar color, rather than a different shade of the rest. Nonetheless, this does make me want to visit Seattle. |

You're right, Grace; cropping does help it. |

Subhash, tho Im not fond of seals, I love this image! In addition to capturing a wonderful moment with good composition, exposure, sharpness and D of F, your complementary color pallet is intriguing. |
