Ian, I, too, like that you zoomed in close to capture the excitement of the ride. Thank you for commenting on my image. BTW, did you notice that Joe mentioned me? We explored Nova Scotia together and are now deciding which of us gets to submit images from scenes we all shot side by side. |

A charming, old-looking image, Georgianne. yes, the green was distracting and I'd have liked the mushroom and vignette a bit darker. Other than that, I like all you've done including the canvas. |

Excellent shots of the historic event then very creatively rearranged. |

The rembrandt coloring is beautiful, unifying the boat with the reversed rocks. Good choices all around. I like the nighttime transformation and the effect of the filters. Agree about lowering the boat. |

Love what you've done here, Steve. You've given an heavy duty machine a soft, pastel charm. Also like Jan's changes. |

Thank you, Steve. I've never used color balance.
May start over using everybody's good suggestions before submitting this to my club for this Thursday. |

Will try again with a more subtle hand. I thought a shower door's texture went well covering this watery scene. Apparently y'all didn't. |

I cropped from the right to center the lighthouse. |

I don't see this as a pleasing image either, Gunter, rather a demo of what I learned about composition. Ideally, I should probably find something that would be both. |

Good suggestion, Subhash. I could make the white portion the same width as the blue roof. |

This is so sweet. An endearing young animal "prancing" past. I assume the the good depth of field is b/c of your 2.8, not post processing. B&W is the natural choice. Well done. |

Your closeness distorts/enlarges the front of her face making the line a saliva and bit of grass paramount. Nice job with blurring the background. |

Love the contrasting colors plus the bright white garlic and the neutral hue of the interesting pot, tho it's cropped reflection looks puzzling. To reduce the busyness, I'd eliminate the small tomatoes. (The large one looks really delicious as does the beautiful, fresh basil.) Is that a potato? A melon? I don't understand its use in pasta sauce. I would like to see this as a vertical as Grace suggested. Nice attempt at Helicon stacking; but I, too, see the lines in the middle of your image. I hope you continue with your exploration of still lives. If there are archives of the PSA Journal, there are some wonderful examples by Claudia Peterson in the print of the month winners. |

I really like what you've captured here, Subhash. The colorful umbrellas and reflections are eye-catching. Instead of a center of interest, you have me looking all over the image at groupings and individuals. The fact that people are cut off at the top doesn't bother me. It's more important that you got entire figures the bottom.
The colorful fabric at the right and some of the clothing give a sense of place. I enjoy walking in the rain, usually sans umbrella, and would enjoy being there. |

These birds are so striking. I've enjoyed them but never noticed the gold beneath the red. A different sub-species? Nice capture. I like whatever you have done to the background? Just enuf diffusion, and think the cattail on the right gives balance and stops the eye from going off the image. Cropping it out would make the bird too centered. |
