So creative Cindy. I like both leg positions and prefer the one here in your presented painting. I love the background on the left- very subtle and yet interesting. What I would like to see is more shadows on the flowers to make it appear as if it was clothing and not just pasted. You have some lovely shadows on the flower on the left and may wish to continue with this on the right and the leg where there would be shadows with a strong light coming from the right.
Also, I really like the original with the Intentional Camera Movement. Have you painted that version?

Excellent suggestions and I am so impressed with the lovely painting of the fur. In addition to the other ideas, you may wish to also work on the area right under the cat where is is laying. I think some of the feeling of cut-out is there isnt a dark shadow near the body and the couch. That area right next to the paw and body usually have a dark shadow because there isnt light there where the body touches the couch. You will see that dark shadow on the original. |

I love the colors and the techniques on the background to create a lovely contrasting background and your brushstrokes. You may wish to look at the section near the aqua petal section and the light effect in the background from the grasses that are out of focus and quite bright. In my visual feedback, I just made a selection and used the patch tool to change the light grasses in the background and then blur the background. Just a thought. My Visual is rough but just to give you a visual of my sugestion. |
