Cindy, you are so creative and this is a wonderful subject I would never have thought of. The background and use of vignetting is what sets this all off. Beautiful work. |

The Bird and Protea (one of my favorite flowers) are lovely, but it seems all the comments are on the background. I too find the diagonal line of the green to the brown distracting to my eye. I think part of the problem my eye sees are the vivid contrasting colors and textures. Personally, I would pick one (green or brown) and use it. The green is actually from the leaves and you may want to go with the brown textured background and actually paint the leaves in rather that blur them. |

Just lovely Pat. The yellow/ dry season is the only time I have been to the Palouse and you have a great composition here and really captured the scene I remember. I agree with Cindy on the removal of the weeds at the bottom. If you can it would be nice to add some light touches to the trees/house area to make one's eye attracted to your focal point. You might even want to explore adding brush strokes to the painting.

I love it just as is. I think communities have found that mural art is attractive to vacationers and fun to capture for own enjoyment. Your processing really enhanced the colors.
Sorry I didn't enter this month and probably will need to skip July, Aug and Sept with my busy schedule. If you want to drop me and I re enter that is fine and I understand. |
