The landscape version was an error because my visual feedback was too big and I went back into PS and just cropped to our regular 1024x768 size. Square images usually do well because of their unique size.

Cindy, this has it all. Again a very romantic subject with soft romantic tones. Like all members said "a Masterpiece". Your work is so inspiring. |

Hi Martha, I enjoy this work. The bark is attractive and I like the texture you created. I find the angle of your woodpecker equally attractive. Like several said, my eye goes straight to the background and then the bark so in my redo I reduced the brightness of the background and some of the bark to make the woodpecker the brightest so my eye goes first to the subject. Just an idea |

Again congratulations on A Crocodile Delight as a showcase image. Also, this image is also extremely appealing to the eye with the lovely brush strokes. Your choice to use the oil paint brush in certain spots added to the appeal of this image. |

This just says America. I support Cindy in the need for shadows so it have a sense of belonging to the perfect background and not floating. Also, your choice of bright yellows and reds bring such wonderful interest to the image. |

I adored your colorful and artistic narrative. Nicely written. Your image complemented this text so much better than the original. Your choice of presets and creative license created a fantastic art piece. Outstanding. |

Thank you everyone. the space on the right side is just my poor cell phone picture of the image. I printed the oil version and painted with Oil paints and then took a cell phone picture that I didn't crop properly.
I belong to an art group where we have monthly meetings with demonstrators from all walks of medium. watercolor sulpture etc.
We also bring one piece of art in to share with the group and the demonstrator picks the one he/she likes best andthen critiques all. Last meeting I took this in and people were standing around while she was choosing and it appeared she was going to select mine (this one) but the president spoke in her ear and said " you know that is a photograph" but she chose mine anyway. Photography is valued here but not quite like an oil painting. I fooled them.

Actually they are the same size as I just cropped the oil as I thought it would be part of the original references. The oil makes such a difference, too.
Michelle used to teach Rebelle years ago. There was a lot of chatting on Rebelle on Beyond the brushes in Dec. and several of us bought it for an unbelievable inexpensive introduction price for the pro version. Michelle has promised to do a video on it for watercolor.
