Thank you for your kind words,
Yes the use of light for focus is important, and for still life set ups I am now taking a drawing class and learning that a strong one light is best to get shadows and highlights to give a sense of WOW. |

This is just darling and what a lovely family image to keep forever. I am really liking what you did with the cloth fabric. I tend to paint these details with a more heavy brush strokes appearance but feel by you keeping the texture more realistic, as you did, gives this work of art a much more charming affect. In terms of the floor, I think I like the line for the floor as it gives a more weighted feeling for the bear but I would suggest it be softened to blend in more. Just my opinion. This is superb work as always.

So charming. Love the composition and yellow perch. The two colors of bright Yellow and Gray blue really make this image pop. Your painting and brush strokes are well done but do not feel you can't zoom in to paint through out the painting session. I like the new version, too. You have taken a very basic nothing image and made it into a lovely work of art. Congratulations. |

The Processed Image has so much character with added perceived depth and values to the different shapes. Your white vignette and soft focus brings our eye to the center.
Your technique makes this image so much more interesting. Nice job.

What a charming image and love the perspective you captured. the only change I might suggest is to tone down the area around the tigers to really make them pop. |

I totally agree with Cindy and the 4 highlights. You may want to darken that area too to bring the eye to only land first on the flower. I really enjoy the crop and the way you eliminated the orangish color on the two sides. Love the placement of the waterlily.

I am learning a lot about still life. A current insight is to use one light to get strong shadows and highlights which tend to make a still like and painting more interesting. Plus, I think my background doesn't add enough texture but I will work on this too.
Thank you for your kind words |
