Elinor, I love both your photo and painting. However, I think your decision to simplify the number of blooms in the painting was a good choice. Your Painter techniques look lovely and and produced a very realistic painting. I have been trained with this program but keep coming back to Photoshop . I need to practice more with it. I agree it is a very complicated program, but it has so much to offer us in painting.
Nice use of your painting strokes on the background, too. |

Just a great pose , composition and painting. Your painting technique really enhances this piece too. It is a masterpiece. Fix those eyes and it is ready for a gallery hanging. |

Gerhard, I have another thought. I like the scene and your technique and can see why you painted it. It has the important pieces that we tend to enjoy : a leading line with the road, a windmill and countryside. However, it might be two separate subjects. The road leads my eye into the light patch of cars on the upper right and then you have the beautiful windmill on the left in your other subject.
Just something to think about. |

Hi Pat, Very creative and different. I agree on the bubbles but good for you for trying something different and thinking outside the box. Keep thinking on that line. It will add to the image. I really like Elinor's suggestion making the building a space ship. |

Lovely set up and scene. It has all been said, but the shadows on the left are indicating something is there and yet not visible so I also support their removal.
You may want to play around with a crop since the cowboy and dog are probably your main subject and while the background is critical to the image and truly lovely the viewer will not know what they are missing. I can understand your dilemma in knowing where to crop it. |

Thank you Cyril. Do you think I should take out the branches in the top left? I left them because I thought it balanced the image. |
