Cyril, I love the hues of the green, yellows and purples in both this painting and the photography. I imagine this was an absolutely beautiful scene when you came upon it. The composition is nice too. The painting adds a nice touch. |

Welcome Cherl. The hibiscus has a very soft red look that is appealing to my eye. I especially like the sharp contrast of the center pistil and stamens. Your technique on the flower petals takes away the photographic look but still retains a nice realistic yet painted look. The background was handled nicely too.
I like using the Mixer brush too but the gradient Map Adjustment Layer is new to me. I need to know more about this. |

Your Black and white version Pat, brought life to this image. I enjoy the details your technique offers and the brighter light to the image. I do not take Infra red, but love it in some scenes. Here it seems to have lost the qualities you were able to bring out in your revision. |

Thank you Cyril and Pat. I too was bothered by the dead branches in the foreground and the hole in the flowers so I kept skipping over this image. In looking for something new to work on, I decided to try to eliminate them. I think I could have done a better job but I am encouraged with your comments. |
