Terri, to me there is a whole lot more to this image than a bird. The composition is beautiful with the flowing of the greenery and drops of water at the end. At first I thought you added a different background, not realizing it was the rain. I love the colors--and oh, by the way, the bird is a nice feature. 😒

How exciting to have the opportunity to get these shots. I know with my antiquated camera I have a very difficult time getting any kind of a shot in low light situations, especially when I can't use long exposure. I haven't read any other comments but want to say I feel you have done so well in capturing the center subject. She is very sharp, colors beautiful, expression makes me want to smile. Well done. |

Thanks, Tor. I expect the next time I will be in Baton Rouge will be for our grandson's college graduation--perhaps in two to three years. Hope I can remember at that time to get someone to go with me for an evening ride! |

Thanks for your comments, Terri. It was a fun unexpected stop along the river--while the men sat in the car! |

Thanks, Martin. I do feel this crops too much and takes away the contrast from the ground. I do like Jim's suggestion. |

I love that you intentionally go out looking for subjects to capture for street photography. This is something I never do even though I live close to the perfect place for tourism in Hot Springs National Park, which the city itself is within the park. I especially like that you got the intense expression on each image. Wouldn't we love to know what he was thinking, and would he have dressed like this in his hometown? (BTW, what is the rule about posting photos without permission?) Although the color rendition certainly is outstanding, I prefer the monochrome. I feel it gives a look on the dark side, as well as the background fading better. |

I feel you made a great picture from your garden. I like the square format with an equal amount of space around the three sides with the bud leading my eyes out of the frame. The softening of the surrounding leaves help to give more emphasis on the dahlia's beautiful colors. It's my understanding that these flowers need several hours of sunlight, something my yard is lacking in the summer. No complaints because it is a lot cooler, but it's difficult to find colorful shade loving flowers. Always love your flowers and hope some of your dahlias do bloom. |

The "spring beauties", as I know them here, are our first sign of spring. I find it difficult to get down on the ground anymore to capture these little ones and to get all in focus. Your editing was done well in sharpening and bringing out the colors. It's always good to clean out the leaves before the shot, but in this case perhaps darkening the upper ones to the same tone would improve. Another thought would be to crop out the lower flowers and use a square format. Have fun with them. |

Jamie, it would appear that the clouds are long exposure, but the shore line shows otherwise. Beautiful catch. |
