Thanks, Piers. I've taken your cropping suggestions and tried messing with the eye some more. The circle showed up as I adjusted whites/blacks/exposures. Can you see it any better? |

Thanks, Terri. I'm afraid 5.6 is the lowest for that lens, but I did try to deepen the background with editing. I had worked on the eye and believe I got the catch light showing more, but I was not successful in getting the entire eye to show. In looking at other pictures, they are usually very dark, but occasionally you can see a lighter outer ring. Any suggestions of how to accomplish this without making the eye look grey? You can see all his careers in that rugged face. I would be tempted to smooth out his face just a tad to be more like the Original 2, but then I know you will take away some of the ruggedness doing that. So don't take away from that, Can you add back a little of his shoulder so the collar point isn't so close to the edge? Then I would print it and give to him for his family--if he has any. What a memory of Dad that would be. |

Terri, I like your creativity in this. Did that woman just happen to come by, or did you wait a long time for the right person to come--even her hair coming out to match your lines. I feel she makes the pic a WOW! Nice post processing for what you wanted to achieve. |

Welcome to our group. I look forward to seeing your bio!
You're a braver person than I in getting out in foul weather, though I love shooting the fog from my deck. In my opinion, the geese because of the size, do not really add anything to the image unless we could enlarge it for viewing. In looking at your original, my suggestion would be to keep that green in there because it gives more depth--don't crop the sides, just some off the bottom--probably where the geese are and remove them. Hopefully you can get some geese in a closer view another time. |

Karen, I visited there October 2022 but was there in the full brightness of the day with lots of people. What an ideal time to catch it, and I like the perspective that you captured from below. And no people! I agree with Piers that you could brighten the tower and the palms--maybe to the sunny side. Makes me want to go back! |

At first glance, I thought he was sitting on top of some rocks. If you wanted to make it look more natural, could you soften the tread of the tires to make it appear like rocks. But it is unusual to sit on tires--the modern farm! I believe your edit in bringing out the details of the rooster and the new blue sky made him look pretty important up there. |

Fun image. I believe you did well in your edit to make it possible to see the palm leaves. I do notice that the lights are not sharp and maybe a sharpening tool might help with that. We have driven by Edison's home MANY years ago, and I do remember it was impressive. |
