2 Sep 23 Reply Yes, it's a toss. Wishing you could go back and kick that tree out of the way! Sep 9th
2 Sep 23 Reply Thanks for your comments. I looked back at the original, and there is a ripple in the water. My editing apparently smoothed the water but not the head. Sep 9th

2 Sep 23 Comment So you can move mountains?! Getting in this game a little late to say anything that hasn't already been said. Karen always gives a great analysis, and I like her thinking. I do like your crop because it brings the boat sheds to us. When you start changing the sky, you have to take into consideration all the effects of the light (or lack) from the new sky. I think with your dark sky, it does feel like a storm is approaching, and I feel the sun is in the foreground about to be covered. I like the effect. Sep 7th
2 Sep 23 Comment Welome to our group, Terri, and I look forward to seeing your bio to learn where you live. I am always fascinated with a magnified praying Mantis--such detail. I like the feeling that it's hesitating to take that next step off the stick. I believe mimicking a sunset works if you do just a little editing of adding some variant in the brightness, perhaps mimicking the variant of the sunset. Sep 7th
2 Sep 23 Comment Karen, what a lovely image. A few years ago we had planned a trip through there, but a hurricane sent us west instead. I love the soft water, and I believe you have just the right amount without it looking artificial. You said that the focal point was the water. Because of that, I feel your other image without the log gives the water the better focal point but still includes enough of the beautiful greenery. In my opinion, the log stops my eye and doesn't add anything to your story. Both beautiful. Sep 7th
2 Sep 23 Comment So glad that it was behind glass! I like the way the coiled effect has my eye going through the entire image. Great detail, especially the eye. The only part that is a little distracting is the lower center is not quite as sharp as the rest, but that is getting a little picky for a great shot. Sep 7th
2 Sep 23 Comment Jim, such a fun picture. The fact that this is more or less street photography, I think it is perfect as is. Maybe Tide or some such detergent could use for an ad for changing to low sudsing detergent. 😒 Sep 7th
