Welcome to our group, Susan, and I look forward to getting to know you and your photography. Thanks for the comments about my shot. And, yes, I can't unsee the bad clone either! Another race picture coming for next month--no cloning! |

Thanks, Sharon. Yes, the cloning looks pretty bad, and I didn't notice it until I saw it on here! |

Thanks, Jim. Good eye on catching that messed up clone. I didn't notice it until it was posted here. |

Thanks, Martin. It's a fun place to go. The track is dirt, and I really am not familiar with other tracks. Amazes me how well they keep it groomed even after torrential rains. They machine water and rake in between each race. |

I believe it's all in the crop! My eye is caught by the angle of the booths, the different colors of lamps over each, and the great accent of the lights into the booths. I believe the young fellow may be captured by looking at perhaps a duplicate of these booths on the other side. Nice human interest story! |

I don't believe I've ever seen a typewriter this old--so different than the usual. I assume the platen is back there somewhere! I like the edit in accenting the antique feel. I know I have tried photographing old typewriters and always difficult to get a good composure in its set-up. I do prefer your original 2 in seeing the full upper portion--a real piece of machinery. |

I like your study of lines, Jim--leading in and then back out. I believe the corner element especially makes it pop, as well as the reflection at the top of the staircase. I do feel it is a bit flat and would suggest working with the tones, such as the blacks to give a little more contrast in the various levels of whites/grays. Fun shot. |
