It's always difficult to put a circle into a square. Your editing resulted in beautiful colors. I wonder if you could have cropped it wider and done some more editing to tone down the window. I feel like I want to see more and what I see I love. |

Karen, I like your creativity and the mix of the objects. On your first shot, what I noticed first was that the candle seemed to be floating because you could barely see the candle holder. It's more visible on the last shot, but I like the position of the candle better on the first. Seems, to me, like they belong together, and I like the light on the one side. I would just light up the holder slightly and also add a little space at the top. Very inviting but don't start a fire! |

Here's a slightly different crop. Had to change his angle because of what I had left from previous crop. |

Thanks, Karen. I just tried getting rid of the twig but didn't like it. First, that twig is a dividing line of the color tones. Second, she looks like she's floating instead of sitting on the branch I could add more space to top. |

Piers, see my edited by Jacqueline. What do you think? Is that too much? |

Martin, that's a lot of production work. At least you didn't have to pay for a model. This is very creative, especially those headlights. And I didn't miss the red glow on the "cigarette." Very nice! |

Thanks, Piers. I am always a bit hesitant about adding too much negative space but will give it a try. Also will darken the branch. Thanks for your suggestions. |

Thank you, Jim. I was thrilled when I saw it was in focus. |

What is most striking to me, is the pose. I feel your editing has created a fine looking bird against the beautiful water. I believe adding a little canvas to the bottom will help the viewer's eyes not be suddenly stopped at the end of the reflection. It's fine without but think it would help. |

I have told myself that I am not going to bother taking another picture of the moon unless I could have something like a majestic building with it. You did that, and I love it. I'm wondering about Piers' comment about 9:30 pm. Since it wasn't a long exposure, I'm assuming it still could be fairly light there at 9:30 in early summer. What was your ISO? I'm assuming you didn't do a moon paste! In my opinion, I think if you erased the electrical lines, you could get rid of some more of the busyness--and perhaps crop above that three-panel structure. Since you live there, I would suggest next time try getting away from the greenery. With what you have to work with, I think it's beautiful. |
