Jacqueline, I admire your creativity in thinking out of the box. I enjoy the wispy look of the image, and the out-of-focus, to me, gives a feeling of motion. My eye is drawn to the upper right hand corner and suggest cloning in some of the white over it. I might try cropping to the left of the dried leaf and lightening the area above it. I think these extra areas are fighting for attention, and these small changes might help. |

Here's my edited--eliminated poor black horse in Photoshop. I tried adding more canvas to the right but it wanted more tree also. Tried cropping like Martin's but decided I liked it a little off balance. What do you think? Should I crop equally?

These are amazing shots, and I saw nothing distracting. Colors and saturation I feel are beautiful. The waves even have a painterly appearance. Love it. |

Such a serene place, and I imagine you got a real wow when you first saw it. I think you have captured the bridge at the perfect angle to lead us across. The blue sky that we usually don't want is great for this against your trees and the reflection in the water. I suggest darkening the lower section of the right tree just a tad and then lightening the upper just a tad to balance more. Beautiful! |

Thanks, Piers. I hesitated using this image because of the one dark horse. I had tried lightening it but couldn't get it right. Also could have removed the horse, but I liked the random look of all of them, and especially liked the horizon of this image. Most of the images have trees as a background. And I know it could have been sharper. |

I love how you have captured the movement and the bold colors of the sails. Replacing the sky from the drab overcast I think was a good idea. Perhaps one with more blue would give some contrast with the trees. I hesitate to say anything about the buildings and trees of your background because we can fix up an image so much that it's no longer the story of the location. |

I have never been able to catch the aspens at the right time of the year, and I am in awe over these. I feel that I am looking at these through the eyes of a drone, which I believe resulted from your crop. The adjustment of saturation, in my opinion, really makes the image pop. I would suggest cropping about half to two-thirds of the green from your edited image to make the aspens pop even more. I think this would also result in bringing out the nice curve at the top of the aspens. |

Know it was difficult to choose which photo to show here, but this one is really you! Wonder if you can first try to take out the shadow on the darker horse before bringing into Nik. Might work! It was such a great experience! And go to Study Group 2 and Group 38 to see some more horses from Mowdy. |
