Hung, this is a beautiful nature shot. The composition, I feel, is very good. If this were a Nature entry where little editing is allowed, I believe you would still be allowed to work on toning down the bright wing and pulling out the shadows in their bodies. Otherwise, I think this is outstanding. |

Thanks, Karen. At that point I should have taken the ND Filter off because it resulted in a darker image. Thus, I was trying to make up for that in my edit. |

I agree, Sharon. I think it takes the entire width to make the image. I may have preferred to not have the light painting in the shot, but then in the end I thought it made a nice reflection. I probably should have copied that last twirl at the end. I also did a wider view off to the left without the pier, but it did not have enough color. |

This shows a great story--"I'm ready for the hunt." The worn-out screening, I feel, adds so much to the character of the story. Nice job of editing what we normally would have tossed. |

Karen, I also love barns. We have lots of them in Arkansas, but they are usually so difficult to get to a safe spot for photographing because most you see are on main highways. I do like your grunge treatment--I'm clueless about layering and need to take PSA's Photoshop class. My only suggestion would be to work on the top roof edge along sky line to add more grunge to it. Picky, but if it were enlarged more, it might show up more. Hope to see more of your barns! |

What a fun composite. I find myself trying to concentrate on the profile and then realize I am looking at him straight on. I believe you accomplished it!!

I wouldn't change a thing. Your editing is wonderful, and he certainly looks like he's in the wild and about to attack. |

Jim, to me, this is a WOW image particularly because of the contrasting colors. I love the detail in the tree, its sharpness as well as the grass in the foreground. Did you crop some of the image off the top in processing? If so, I would suggest adding some more to the top of the tree. If not, I would suggest cropping about 1/2 of the foreground grass to perhaps keep the image from appearing top heavy. Nice catch! |
