Hung, I think the pelican is beautiful--sharp, good catch light. Although the bokeh is good with the buildings, I do feel that the buildings stand out too much and compete for the center of interest. Perhaps you can try cropping and then use the graduated filter in Lightroom to change exposure and soften the buildings. I have no experience with masking in Photoshop, but this one might be one to try masking the pelican onto another layer. Good luck. I'm anxious to see other comments. |

Phew, I'm glad I don't have to drive those streets because I would need an interpreter's book for the signs. I feel all those signs add to the story of his travels--wherever he may be going. I'm fascinated to see how your cropping seems to have brought him closer to the signs and the landscape. I am not bothered by your breaking the rules of where he should be positioned. I know he's coming right at me! |

Jaqueline, when I first looked at your image, I did notice the eye closest to me was out of focus, but I really thought it was intentional. I like this because it makes the viewer think! |

To me, Karen, this has so much humor. If you were into creativity, you could add a few cameras around the birds necks! Besides the humor, what impresses me are the colors of the shirts that pop so well against the rocks. I like the curve of the railing and the separation of the two groups of people. I love this! |

Piers, I do like the edited version better since the original, to me, was flat. I feel your sky replacement became the central point of the image framed beautifully with the arch. An added bonus is the rays from the light. I do think you are leaning downhill slightly to the right. |

Jim, this is an interesting shot that has my eyes wander through the entire image studying all the detail, especially the light fixture. I am amazed that you were able to get HDR handheld, though perhaps you used your camera timer. To me, this is almost an abstract with the oblong shape. Although my eyes want the entire atrium in the frame, I don't think it would have been as interesting if you had been able to center the entire opening in your frame. |

Thanks, Karen. The tilt was intentional! |

Thanks! It's an awesome place, and I would love to return one day. No, I did not go to Delicate Arch because my husband is limited in the amount of hiking he can do. So I missed out on some good spots but was blessed to be able to see much without hiking. |
