Oh, but you don't want those below zero temperatures if you're area is NOT supposed to have them. Amazing what plant damage we have. Kind of like your Florida citrus grove freezes! |

Here's one at the coldest time! If you look close, you can see the "sun burst." |

Jacqueline, I feel you depicted the bleak cold--as we had here in Arkansas with our record breaking low. I like the grey softness of the sky and snow against the yellow. I experimented with bringing out the yellow saturation a little, which I liked and does not take away from the bleakness--just a little more contrast. Although you could crop out that left branch, I believe that just cropping the top to remove the blossom just above the bare section at about 11:00 o'clock would still leave a nice frame. Let's hope for a nice spring! |

I love this shot. When in nature, you must take what you can get, and I feel you took advantage of the situation the best way you could in the real world. Yes, agree with the other comments, and they are suggestions for you to remember next time. |

Jim, what impresses me most about this image is the bold colors. I feel the angled perspective gives it more character than straight on. Perhaps that little bit of uneven left edge could either have brown cloned in or straightened to take my eye away from it. Although not important, I wonder if you have a little more of the top of the frame on the right that we could see. I love the topic! |

Thanks for the education, Piers. I had wondered why the pelicans I shot a few months ago did not have those wider "beaks" like some of yours. I feel your cropped image gives beautiful detail of the birds and has great depth of field. In my opinion your first original is a better composition since I am uncomfortable with cutting off the back portion of the birds. Just makes it appear, to me, that you didn't quite catch it right. It makes me want to see more. |

I love the intensity on each of their faces. The side lighting on each really draws me into the image, and especially the V angle of the two. I would suggest a re-crop to show more of the guitarist's hand, and then clone out what is left of the girl. Great photojournalist shot. |

Such a pretty little lady. I think you have done well in the composition with the leaves at the bottom and the one on top leading us out of the image. The colors are beautiful with the contrast of the pink and green, the main flower sharp, and the balance of the image softer. Your matting and framing, I feel, really made it pop. |

Thanks, Martin. I have some others taken at the lowest point of -5 that crystalized the entire bubble. This one was taken when it was getting warmer at about 16 and not much formed, but I was after the sun burst that also brought warmer temperatures. There are lots of videos on "how to" if you are ever in COLD weather. |
