I took the suggestions of removing the one branch, then it looked a little void, so I cropped, then removed the little connecting twigs at the bottom because they stood out so much. Also turned it around. What do you think? |

Welcome, Jacqueline. I hope you will enjoy our group. I love cone flowers, and I believe you made a lovely capture. The contrasting colors of the butterfly, flower, and background bokeh, I believe, are right on. Others have mentioned cropping. If anything, I would recommend a square crop. Everyone has an opinion! I do agree that the image appears to be dark. Do you use Nik? One of its tools lighten/darken center in Color Efex that I really like. Of course, you can do the same in Lightroom or other editing programs. But Nik has a good fading aspect when using that tool. Look forward to seeing your images. |

You did lots of work for that suggestion. I like this better. Now the next person may suggest add some room next to the right cow, but I think it would be too centered. |

Thanks, Jamie. It's rare to be able to see one sitting from our house. |

I love barns, and I believe you have done a good job of turning a gray sky day picture to one that pops. I like the way you have enhanced the red and the sky. I feel the barn is a little tight on the left, though I realize you would have to do a little cloning if you added more. (You can do that!) |

Nice action shop--very sharp. The choice of converting to monochrome, I feel, was so much better than the contrasting orange ground. I like the cropping bringing in the emotion of the young girl in the front. Next time, though, listen to your tour guide! |

To me this is perfect. The flower color contrasting with the green is beautiful. I like the shadows within the flower and the shadow reflection in the water. The angle and cropping and your choice of Topaz filter really makes it pop. Good luck in the competition. I think it's a winner. |

You have obviously mastered the focus stacking--something I have fear of attempting. Your image to me appears perfectly sharp. I like your background and the contrast of the green and pink. To me the flower composition has a 3-D effect, and the water droplets help to make it pop. I would only suggest you clone out the lower left leaf (and maybe the end of the stem--not sure about that). Since you have the flower positioned higher in the frame, I think it might look better with some cropped off the bottom to balance. Beautiful specimen, and I would like lessons on the focus stacking. |

Very nice for street photography, Jamie. I definitely liked your cropped version since it puts the attention more on the artist. You need to use this one in NP. |
