Karen, this is such a beautiful botanical shot. Your original image is great, and your edits really make the flowers pop showing so much detail. I also feel that this looks like a perfect water color painting! |

I tried shooting some of my neighbor's irises this summer and gave up because I could not get anything isolated even with the f-stop giving me the best bokeh. Thus, I'm impressed with your edit--the detail of the iris and the shadows giving it more depth, as well as the background effect. I'll have to try again next summer! |

Indeed a very interesting edit, Harry. My first thought was, "Where did those people come from on the left," and then realized some were from the other side. Nice job in doing that because I would never know if I hadn't seen the original. I like your resulting pattern. Wouldn't that be a fun design for some stairs--moving or stationery! I'm not bothered by the brightness at the top because it looks natural to me and draws me up to the top. |

Another great street photography photo. I like the motion and emotion you caught for your story telling of how different the culture is than the U.S. My first reaction was that I felt it needed cropping and do like Karen's cropping. However, if you want more of the picture on the right, I would suggest cropping just to the right of the blue box and then either cloning it out or toning down the color. |

You are right. I was there in the middle of the day and wanted the color of the sun that you would see at sunrise or sunset. I was curious to know what others would think of my changing the color. So I need some shadows to make it look realistic? Do I need to give the sky some color? I did want it to look realistic since I want to use this in a Club landscape competition. |

I believe you caught the passion in her singing, which to me is the most important in an image like this. She is singing to me also! Your image is sharp, even seeing the hairs on her shoulder, especially with camera being hand held at 300mm. I like your crop and the way you handled the lighting. |
