Hung, you have captured a wonderful iconic image. I feel that this is a different perspective than ordinarily seen. In my opinion, the flags--or at least the motion of the flags--distract from the center of interest. I would suggest that you could have moved to a different viewpoint to eliminate the flags. |

Amazing to catch a woodpecker in a still position--at least the ones I see at our house. I like the way your were able to crop and still have a sharp image--and catch light in his eye! Beautiful colors and bokeh. If you were to crop some more, I would suggest cropping at the bottom of the broken part of the branch and perhaps just a little off the right side of the large trunk at the point where the little twig is touching.
Nice shot. |

Cotswolds seems like it would be an interesting place for visiting, and I am sure the residents would appreciate your clean-up in person. I think your image has great charm, and I like the way you saturated the buildings. The path is inviting me to come walk to see more. I do agree with Brenda in liking the original headstones. I feel the soft tones would make a nice contrast to your edited buildings. Wish we could enlarge the image to read the headstones! Love the history. |

Wonderful opportunity to get a popular shot with your own special touch. I like how you were able to bring out all the colors--amazing editing. I would like to see it cropped more on the lower section to eliminate the green in the center. Nice shot! |

I love buildings with old advertising. We have several in Hot Springs but are being replaced with new murals--hate to remove the history. In my opinion, the red of the building could be made more vibrant--if that would not mess up the authenticity. I feel you could crop some on the right even if it means removing that tree. I love the lamp post and wonder if another angle might have brought it out more. Good luck on the class. I'd like to know more about which one it is. |

Before I read your full explanation, I thought it was some kind of a huge scary millipede. I believe you caught something very different and creatively showed the intrusion. The monochrome editing and crop really leads me into the image with the curves of the roots. I hope it wasn't too costly! Oh no, I just read Martin's thoughts of it being a centipede. We both have weird minds! |
