Welcome to to our humble group, Bob. I am first making my own comments before seeing what everyone else has said. I love bridges, as is evidenced by three I believe that I have posted in our group. I believe your capture is sharp, wonderful post processing with the colors, nice lines. In your processing, the one thing I would change is not cropping off the tip of the bridge because it seems to end suddenly that way. OK--now I see your shot before cropping. I hate when I lose some of my picture when straightening. I would suggest you add canvas before straightening. If you have Photoshop, that can easily be done. Other than that, I love the image. |

Laurie, yes, our club has also set some general rules of photographing someone else's art. It often falls into copyright issues, and PSA is very careful about that. It gets to be a gray line area, and some architecture even has copyrights. Not sure about my Capitol Building!! The rule we go by is that if the object is created for a piece of art as opposed to utilitarian--like a bridge.
Nevertheless, this is a great macro shot with everything in focus. I like Harry's little border. Now see if you can get a model to do this in a chair--but be sure to get a model release!! |

Al, I like the composition of the ducks sitting on the wood that gives it a little dimension. Although the contrasting colors are beautiful, I wonder if something could be done with softening the water. I certainly don't know how you could accomplish this, but I feel the movement of the water is too busy. Perhaps just toning down the saturation of the water color a little might make it less vibrant and put more emphasis on the ducks. But I love the shot. |

Hung, nice action shot with the rings showing slight motion, yet still sharp as well as the skater. I think you captured beautiful contrasting colors with shadows of the rings and the skater. I am only distracted by her rings being cut off on the left. Also, I believe cropping just below the white spot in the upper section will give the image a better balance while eliminating the spot. Your expertise seems to be journalism, and I think you did well with this one. |

I was intentionally trying to get some "stars" but wish it had been on the post instead. I knew that the one on the lower right was distracting but either was too lazy to clone it out or liked it--not sure which. Just not in the right position. I do like the way you cloned it rather than cropping. Definitely balances the image better. Thanks. |

I have never seen an albino tiger and reminds me of a child's fuzzy stuffed animal. I believe the position of him in your framing is perfect with the look of either coming at me or about to get something in the water. Good contrast with the greenery and eye contact. |

Although I do like your B&W image, I'm more attracted to the original. Since there is not a lot going on in the sky to give you much contrast, I prefer the color of the sunset in the sky, as well as the reflection. I do like the ducks coming into the picture and forming the V's on the water. Very peaceful scene. |
