Although in my opinion, the confusion of wires keeps me from getting a good feeling when viewing the image, it certainly has a story to tell. Almost like the insect caught in the middle of a spider web. Since I don't believe the clouds at the top are strong enough to add to the image, I would suggest that you crop the sky just above the top wire. To me you would have a great starting angle of the wires zigzagging through the image. I'm not sure what is in the lower left. If it is a bush, I think it might help to decrease the shadows on it.

Piers, I believe this is a beautiful action shot with the stop action telling the story of her dance. I feel you caught the image at the perfect time with her arm on the left and the fringe flowing and framing her so well. I am especially drawn to the expression on her face. The contrasting colors are sharp, and I think your crop works well. The only suggestion I have would be to clone out the branch in the upper right and perhaps the flowers on the dance floor. Great capture. |

I do not do well at all with low light without a tripod. Fortunately, this was our Camera Club field trip--thus, not the only tripod! |

Yes, in my opinion that puts more emphasis on the canyon instead of sky. |

Welcome to our group, Laurie. I was just in Canyonlands for the first time on September 17th! You are blessed to be living so close to the magnificent land of Utah. To me your image is very sharp, good capture of the vastness of the canyon and the many curved lines carved by nature, and good contrast with the sky. As when I was there, not a cloud in the sky. Because of that, I would suggest that you crop about half the sky if you can bring some of that deeper blue to the lower section. Some people would layer in some clouds, but I have not gotten into that YET! Thanks for sharing. |

Al, I wish I had been with you. We just returned from Utah and just a little bit of CO with hopes of catching aspens. You caught the perfect scene with the fence line framing the lower area, leading me to the buildings, a few animals, and then up to awesome color and curve of the mountains and beautiful sky and clouds. The perfect combination. |

Hung, my favorite part of this image is the action of the little boy's leg. I like the story that you have shown with the loads that these women are carrying. Your colors are vibrant; he angle of the people lead me into the image and want me to walk with them. I think it might help to anchor the focal point by cropping the lower sand to just below their feet. Nice capture. |

Harry, this looks like a garden salad. Although, to me, the image has no focal point, I think your explanation of how it survived the volcano gives reason to not have that focal point. Knowing that, my eyes dance around all the variety--as if they were hugged together to survive. Your colors are vibrant. I think that if some more tweaking were done to change the exposure on some of the plants, including those on the outside of the circle, that you might get more dimension. I also wonder how about 1/2 of the foreground bright green would look cropped to anchor the main subject. Great story. |
