Harry, I like the low perspective of the shot that gives the feeling of movement. Beautiful colors, reflections, and lines. I like your edit of the background and it's contrast. |

A beautiful specimen that I think would be very difficult to get a close-up composition with such a long tail in a parallel position. My eye did spend as much time on the wood as the flycatcher. As the others have said, I do agree that the wood should be cropped. I wonder, though, how it would look to have him sitting on just the nub of the wood, and then also crop the right edge just to the wood. The bird's colors are beautiful and perhaps Harry's suggestion pertaining to the sky would make him pop more. |

Thank you, Al. When I first saw my post, I thought I should have cropped out the lower portion. I like your crop and removal of the light reflections and marker. Certainly adds to the serenity. |

This is definitely photo journalism and really tells a story of the destruction. I'm especially attracted to the brightness where we wanted to get a star burst. Wonder if there is a filter to add some soft rays coming out of it to complete your story. I like the B&W that emphasizes the gloom, good contrast with the sky, and sharp trees. And thanks for your relief work. We see it on the news, and it is so easy to forget about it. |

So that's what the bottom of a basket boat looks like! I love the story that this shot shows. Beautiful contrasting colors and position of boat and man in your frame. All the boats and man seem to be sharp. You might check your horizon line because I think the water might be tilting a little. Nice shot! |

Al, what fun that must be and how difficult to get him in the frame where you want it. I like your original colored shot rather than Stephen's rendition of monochrome because there doesn't seem to be enough contrast. I like the action and believe the important part of the subject is fairly sharp. Difficult to isolate your subject with all the people in the background, but I think your blurring them helped to have the bull and rider stand out more. Since they are leaving the frame, I would suggest cropping some off the right side unless you can successfully add some canvas to the left side. Would love to try doing this. |

This is such a serene scene, and you certainly were lucky to catch it without interference of other people. After getting my eyes off the young man, I am drawn through the picture by starting at the the movement of the water caused by his pole and then following the three reflections. The image appears to be sharp and good contrast with the water. If I were to suggest anything, it might be to crop about half the water from above the man. But I know that would mess up your ratio. I love the shot and anxious to see what the others say. |
