How's this? Did I get too much on the top? Have to remember how easy it is to add canvas to a shot. |

Beautiful specimen with sharpness throughout the butterfly. I like the composition with the flower framing the butterfly and the other leading me out of the image with the softening of the petals in the upper section. Great bokeh. |

Wow, I have never seen such bright trees and especially not an orchard of persimmons. Wonder if there are any orchards in the U.S. I love the perspective you chose of getting down low that draws me right through the row of trees. It appears that everything is sharp, even the beautiful leaves on the ground. I think the contrast of the blue sky in the middle really sets the scene. Nice catch at the right time of year. |

Welcome to the group, Jerry. Based on your experience, I believe you will be able to help all of us. I love this image and especially the contrast of the chairs and brick to the rest of the room. Al had suggested cropping the right quarter, but I find that my eye is caught going back and forth to the white cloth on the left and the hall on the right. So in my opinion cropping that rag would give a better flow. Nice shot. |

Nice leading line that takes you into the image and back out. I agree with the others that more saturation and contrast would make the image pop, as well as some cropping. Al suggested cropping the upper third, but I think more like crop half, as well as half of the lower section. In my opinion that would give more emphasis to the shell itself. |

Beautiful catch in a moving boat. Composition with the international moon really tops off the image with the lines leading me to the moon. Very sharp and good contrasts. I agree with Al about the higher light but see no problem with the lower two since they add some different tones. Nice image. |

I love waterfalls and what you can do with the camera settings to change the effect. I especially like this one you captured with so many separate falls, each well defined. I think the logs across the top make a natural border and wonder how it would look to crop about half of the green above the last timber. I believe it then would give a natural stepping effect and dimension leading to the falls. At first I thought the water needed to be toned down some in exposure, but I believe what you have gives it a different mood that I love. Beautiful.
Did you get any good ones of Crater Lake? The time I was there I only had my point and shoot. |

Thank you, Al. I had another with long lens with great bokeh of the water, but flower had dead blossoms on it. Someone told me that it looked like zen photography, and I had to research what that was. Sounds like it would be a good challenge to get into that. |
