Gary, what really draws my interest in your image is the overall color, as well as the catch light in his eyes. The texture of the feathers with its contrasting colors I feel make him come alive (well, I know he's not stuffed). I do think that the shadow of his beak might be a little too strong. I wonder if it were lightened some, if it might take away from the dominance, as well as blending the bar on each side of his head in your great bokeh. Nice shot even if these things are not changed in my opinion. |

I love this shot. I like the leading line of her fiddle that draws me to her face. My eyes are really caught by the lighting--her hand, the upper part of her blouse, including the diagonal line, the lower section of her face--all form a good triangle. Your conversation to black and white, I feel, makes it perfect. |

Harry, what a serene scene! I like your leading lines from each side leading me into the larger pool of water and framed by the trees on each side. Nice reflections. I believe you might get more depth in the scene if you played with the trees--changing exposure and color here and there on some. Is the sky as it was shot, or did you use a graduated filter? I'm thinking it needs a different blend where the blue is showing behind some of the leaves but surrounded by white. I wonder how it would look to use HDR for single image in Lightroom. Might make it pop more. I'd like to canoe down the river--that is, if there are no rapids ahead! |

Hung, you got a nice action shot. The waving banner draws me all the way through the image--with my eyes having to figure out where it was going leading to the woman in the lower left. I am confused about the position of her head. Did your shot catch it in motion giving the illusion it's lying on her shoulder? I think I would try to tone down the hot spots on the sides (especially the floor to the left of the woman) and sharpen and add more contrast to the center. Tough shot with all that action. What were your settings? |

I love the contrasting colors of the plane with the trees and water. The composition, I believe, is beautiful with your focal point of the boat very strong with the added benefit of the reflection. My eye is drawn to the white area behind the boat, and I think it might help to have that cloned to isolate the boat from the background. I would like to stay in that cabin that looks so peaceful. |

Piers, the leading lines of the track from the corner lead me right into the image to the train, has me looking around a little, and then leading me back out along the side rails. I like the way the sunset colors are reflecting on the rails. I do feel that the image could have more dimension if some of the areas within the trees could be brightened and more contrast added to the train. Perhaps the graduated filter could be used to enhance the low contrast. |
