Thanks for the comments. I've never learned how to work with layers, but it looks like it's time!

The lower lights are definitely boats, but the upper right lights that start or end at the bridge are a mystery. Perhaps it's just an optical illusion, and they are not as high as they appear. Another possibility is that there was a drone flying that evening or a UFO! I debated cloning out the upper right but decided to leave the mystery as is. Bet we can get some other ideas for the solution. |

Thanks, Gary. It's fun to be able to stay in one spot and try it several times as the light changes. My husband would say, "What, several times? You mean several hundred times," while he waited on me.
I always shoot and process the RAW route in Lightroom. |

Malabika, I especially like your perspective of this capture. The diagonals from each side of the almost centered rows all seem to converge to a point in the back. If I were to crop anything, I believe I would take out some of the sky to the tip of the taller tree on the right. I feel that might frame it better but still with enough sky for contrast in color. I believe the HDR worked other than perhaps the surreal look of the upper sky. Beautiful shot, especially considering the time of day. |

Al, I love how you have been able to capture the contrast of the tree just barely turning to the bright orange. You know I like HDR, so I had no issue with the color. I believe the picnic table in the foreground gives dimension and gives a welcoming look. The only change I would have made is to get up at the top of the tree and trim off the dead branch and clone the little red in corner. I see Harry climbed up for you! Beautiful shot that is an excellent way to say goodbye to summer. |

Gary, kudos to you for requesting the right position for your photography. I bet the crew was put on alert to see what you were up to for requesting that exact position! I like the composition that you were able to get with the river going from one corner to the other. Looks like you got a magic marker! Oh, and did you request they clean your window also? |

Hung, this is like photography at the horse race track. You only have just a second to capture the horses as they go by, especially with trying to get them in the right position. I agree with Harry that it was unfortunate that you captured the shot right over that building. Did you mean that your ISO was at 125? If so, you probably needed a much higher ISO and shot at continuous auto focus to be able to capture the shot in the right position. We all know that takes lots of practice and the opportunity of several planes. Great that you got out there. |

Harry, I love your composition, especially with the truck seemingly leaning to one side as it is falling apart. I'm sure it is difficult to isolate an individual vehicle there, but I believe you captured it perfectly showing just a little of the other. I like that Nik filter, which certainly accents the age. Wish we had something like that close to us. |

Reminds me of a Dawn dish soap oil spill commercial! I believe you have captured some beautiful color and reflection to frame the duck. If I had not seen your original, I would have thought you had altered the colors to coordinate with the duck. Your slight cropping, I think, placed the duck in perfect position to catch my eye. And nice catch light, too. Beautiful image. |

Ahh, but it would be fighting for attention. But funny you say that. We were staying on the lake in Mackinaw City where we could see the sunrise from our room. I had the camera set up, left the drapes open and kept watching for colors and the sun to start peeking, dozed off, and was amazed when I looked out and saw the full moon right along the sun! It was awesome. I guess you'd have to live their year-round to catch the moon over the bridge. Sunset that night left no color over the bridge. |
