You caught this at just a perfect time. Your composition first brings me into the sunset reflection and then to the ferris wheel where my eyes want to rest a while looking at the colors and then leads me to the mountains and out the pier and through the beautiful clouds. So much beauty to see, and I believe your perspective is right on. |

Al, I think he is saying, "If you want to take a picture of me, get me from the other side where the sun is not so bright!" I like the lines of the fox and the snow drift leading me into the image. Nature has provided you with the two contrasting tones and shadows that you have captured so well. I believe the fox is sharp with the texture of his fur enhanced so well with the lighting. Wonder what made the snow orange! Good capture.

No, no, Gary, we women would never want this effect on us (unless maybe we lived to be 100). On you it looks great--the kind of character we wish we could get in street photography. I believe the tonality is just perfect showing your matured lines in your face--the whiskers---the side lighting--just great. You didn't give us any of your settings, but whatever you used I feel you have caught the perfect image, and the toothpick adds so much! You look like you would be one of our Arkansas neighbors! I, too, will be investigating the Dragan Effect. Thanks for the education! |

What a peaceful image. I believe you have done a fine job of capturing another story--something of the old world we don't see here in the States. I find myself staring at the boats and men wondering how they are keeping the boats balanced. I like the softness of the colors that shows it must be early morning with the faint shapes of the buildings in the background that depicts probably a little village. Your boats coming into the picture on the left draw me right into the scene. I agree with Gary that cropping to make a panoramic shot by removing some of the water will add more drama to the image. I love it. |

Harry, I think that old fellow is staring at you wondering what you are going to do with that contraption in front of your face. I think your composition is good, especially with the position of his hand. I like the way his head and right shoulder are slightly high lighted to separate him from the background. The details on his face, I believe, are sharp with some good contrasts in tone. I do feel since you don't have his full head in the image, it might help to crop just a little more off the top and perhaps to balance that cropping up to the arm on the right side. Handsome specimen! |
