Hi Jack,
Second try...with the correct image this time! I really like this...it has a strong visual appeal to me. I do agree with Henry's cropped version. Perfect subject for IR! |

Your feedback is much appreciated, Jack. Yes, this one is quite a bit outside the rails for a traditional IR image. It is more art than literal, but I'm happy with the final result. The only way to have kept that dark sky was to significantly lighten that barren, central tree structure. |

Much appreciate your feedback Jack. Yes, there's a lot of personal interpretation of "Armageddon" in this one and my vision of it. |

Thanks Melanie,
I stayed with the near-black sky but had to significantly lighten the large, barren tree in the center to make it work for me. I wanted a real feeling of "the end times", and it works for me. |

Thanks Emil...I'll have to go back to this serene and peaceful place in the Summer when the grass is green and the sky is blue and see if I can make a more realistic IR image and bring that church steeple more into the composition. |

Thanks, Henry...I get it completely...a very different use of an IR base image to create something totally different. |

Hi Charles,
Thanks for your comments...couldn't agree more. The image moved beyond IR and into my personal vision of art. |

Thanks for the feedback, Arik. I will work on that sky...I see it now that you have rightly pointed it out to me. |

Hi Emil,
This is classic! I like it very much. Your post processing, in my view of the world, is spot on. Congratulations. |

Hi Palli,
I think this is absolutely masterful! Your use of the heavy vignette takes the eye right to the white/highlight of the bike where you suddenly see the L-plate. It's really well done, and your post-processing and cropping get high marks. |

Charles...
STUNNING. Well done. I have no suggestions whatsoever. Glad you ventured out when your flight was cancelled...it paid off! |

Hi Jack,
The crop looks very good to me. I like the image and how you've composed it. You know me...why not add Detail Extractor and a pinch more contrast? The gpadj version attached seems to have a bit more visual impact to my eye. |

Hi Arik,
Very pleasing scene...like your choice of tones and the leading lines to infinity. Might you consider modest sharpening of the grasses in the center/lower third per the attached adjusted version? |

Yes, Melanie, what a peaceful and whimsical scene. You've captured it nicely. It DOES tell a story in my view. Well done. |

Beautiful subject, Henry. I continue to work on my own bias about color IR and find this one to really be high in impact with the colors and the composition. For my eye, the house could have been a bit further right in the composition and not as much unused space to the right. The Palouse is a special place...I must return there soon. Oh...good move to remove that power tower in the right hand background! |
