Hi Melanie,
A great 'find'...and well composed. I toned it all down a bit in Levels and added a replacement sky for what I think is a bit more drama and visual impact. See what you think. |

Well done, Arik. I have always struggled with the blue tones in IR, but this one is done most effectively. The tree really pops out of the composition. |

Greetings Jack,
In my many travels, have not made it to Cambodia. This is very interesting. I need the highlights toned down a bit for my eye and the very small intrusion of the white bit removed from the upper l.h. side. Glad you got back a second time!
PS...wonder what Color Efex Pro Detail Extractor do with the sky detail? |

Hi Charles,
My first reaction to your image is that the brightness of the foliage and grasses conflict with the brooding sky. The composition pulls me in with the leading lines of the path. You can do variations of the foreground and see if you feel I'm making a fair point. |

Hi Palli,
Nicely done after your modest correction from Arik. Great compositional balance and an interesting subject. Most appropriate title! |

Hi Emil,
The iterations of your image are good learning for us all. I like what you are ending up with very much. This is a natural for IR. |

Henry,
You've visited one of Ansel Adams's favorite locations! He has some stunning images from here taken in the 40's. I have also been, and it's a natural for IR. I removed the white divider inside the courtyard along the wall and also cleaned up the scrapes in the front facade. Finally, I darkened the image and slightly increased contrast. For my eye, it's more dramatic. See what you think. I hope you took multiple compositions of this famed little church! |
