Hi Henry,
Cliche location or not, you've made it your own with both IR and your excellent post-processing. The sky is magnificent in my view, and the blacks and whites are spot on. Well done. |

Hi Emil,
This stands as a classic. Your post-processing has clearly added value to the scene. This would make a wonderful B&W print in my opinion. I have a sense of tranquility and looking into the past when I view your image. |

Hi Palli,
Processed very nicely and with good technique. The subject is fresh and unique. While it may not have required IR to capture this scene, it definitely added some contrasting elements to the bird in the immediate background (by the water's edge). Glad you always have your IR camera at hand, sir! |

Classic, Charles! I like this very much. Sure you can color IR images...it's your art! Both Arik and I have done it on our images for this month. I might like a bit more of the pink leaves as I hardly noticed them at first glance. One of these days, add a small child walking away from you down this idyllic pathway! |

Hi Jack,
Don't think me a broken record, but in this otherwise classic composition I just feel it is a bit flat. I attach my version...it does NOT have contrast added. I simply moved the LEVELS sliders on both left and right to touch the larger mass of the histogram (thus adding a pure black and pure white). I used a graduated neutral density filter to tame the bright sky. You've captured a classic here, Jack, and I'm glad you were able to be in Cambodia. Is it a recent trip? (P.S....I slightly straightened your horizon line.) |

Creative and filled with art, Arik. I like it a lot. Including the human element was a must for this to work as strongly as it has. Well done! |

Hi Melanie,
The highlights turning a 'rust' color seem unnatural and out of place to my eye. The scene itself is stunning and worthy of many visits, but I can't grab onto your post-processing technique on this one. Is this by chance Cades Cove? I'd challenge you to go back to your RAW file and see what this looks like with other post techniques! |

Thanks Arik. You're right, I cut off the flag to eliminate the empty white grass dominating the scene, but also the truncated flag, to my eye, does a better job of leading the viewer into the entire scene. Interesting how you use your brush, and I think it shows yet again that Photoshop affords us a myriad of ways to do the same things to our images. Imagine if there was only 'one way' to do the edits in PS?! |
