Thank you Palli...I rather like this one, too, and will see how it fares in some of the international exhibitions. |

Thanks Arik...just after posting this, I saw the blank space that you've mentioned. I'll correct it in the master file. |

Thank you Emil. This is a very compelling change in the clouds, and you've caused me to go back to the digital darkroom! |

Hi Henry,
I envy you and the location and the subject matter! What history and memory this conjures up in all of us. I felt the scene should be more ominous, more sinister if you will, after all the terror that erupted from the mountain. I simply added the Midnight filter from Color Efex Pro, selectively dodged the deepest shadows and slid the brighten bar a bit more to the right to make it less 'midnight'! See what you think. The Midnight filter has a blur effect that I personally like for scenes like this. |

Greetings, Emil!
Unique subject and presentation. I really appreciate your depth of field on this one and the composition...well done. For my eye, it needs a WHITE point set in LEVELS, and while I was there, I added a dash of contrast. As Palli mentioned, the highlight lower left corner needs to be removed...a VERY minor point. See what you think of my adjusted version. |

Hi Charles,
What a perfect subject for IR! I like your composition and especially how you cropped foreground. Always good to try new things, i.e. your inclusion of the original tram color in the capture. The tram is so small it would probably be lost if it were left in monochrome. Do you have images of the tram getting closer to you? Thanks for showing us a novel subject and use of IR. |

Heh Melanie...wonderful. I like the composition and the overall 'feel' of this very much. I might try to tone it differently just to see how you like it compared to the blue tone. Well seen, especially with little time for IR photography in Costa Rica! |

Hi Palli,
Well seen! I believe I see a) a rabbit, b) a turtle's head or c) something else the mind conjures up! This is tranquil and relaxing. It's simple and effective. |

Hi Arik,
Firstly, excellent post-processing in my opinion. I like the image overall. You had me fooled on the reality of the mountain lion until you gave your explanation! I guess my one concern is that I'm not sure this is an IR scene per se. Just one person's humble opinion. |

Hi Jack,
I REALLY like this...your composition and general 'feel' imparted by this tranquil scene is superb. In the attached, I added NIK Detail Extractor to the scene, and for my eye it clears up the confusing mass of weeds and grasses in the f/g. I also very slightly burned the corners. See what you think? I DIDN'T apply the Potts Method of high contrast and bold blacks and white whites! |
