Hi Jack,
The framing is superb...it so fits the black sky. As you know, this is my kind of boldness! As I studied it, I wondered about the sharpness of the formation and the rocks in the foreground. I selected just this part of the image, feathered it, then applied Sharpen>Lens Blur at an amount of 145, Radius 1.7, 100% noise reduction. It seems sharper/crisper now without pixellating or looking over-sharpened. See what you think. |

Thanks for the compliment Jack...means a lot. I take your point on the histogram, and the attached version is punching up those whites a bit more. What do you think? |

Thank you, Palli, for your kind comments. I just 'found' this one in the files from 2009. It pays to go back and have a look at some of the past imagery! |

Thank you Arik...couldn't agree more...modern software has opened up new options for some of our older work. I've even had modest success using it on scanned slides. |

Thanks Melanie...amazing what one can find when rooting around the old files...this was 2009, and it had never seen the light of day! |

Hi Emil,
May 2022 yield you many more, exciting Infrared images! I like this very much for the composition, attention to detail in the shadows and highlights and overall impact. I can't add anything I'd suggest you do differently...well done. |

Health and Happiness in 2022, Palli!
This is one of your finest images to date in my humble opinion. Bravo for the two people...they just make the image in my view. Look what a simple addition of Nik Detail Extractor and Darken/Lighten Center filters do to the 'drama' and visual impact of the scene. Do you agree with the gpadj version? |

Hi Charles...all the best in 2022!
Moody and impressive in infrared, Charles. The replaced sky is fantastic. For my eye, there is too much foreground without it adding much to the scene, so in the attached version, I cropped some of it out. Also, I applied DxO Nik Color Efex Pro Detail Extractor and Darken/Lighten Center filters to the scene. See what you think of the differences. We hope to go to Iceland in August, never been! |

Hi Melanie,
Happy New Year. No one dare accuse you of poor contrast or lack of pure blacks/whites in this one! "Nestled" is a fantastic title in my view, and I only wonder if this scene would be more visually powerful in sepia tone versus the boldness of pure black and white? |

Happy New Year, Arik!
Everything about this is moody and with high impact...the 'canopy' of foliage, the building itself, the foreground foliage and fence. Composition is superb. Given the volume of white in the scene, I cannot get past the blue 'patches'. I feel a much stronger image comes from making these jet black. I have taken the liberty of adding another version and will be interested in what you and our group think about the two overall. |
