66 Dec 21 Reply Well done on this version, Palli...I prefer it over the warmer original. Dec 6th
66 Dec 21 Comment Seeing Palli's version, I'm going to surprise Jack and say I agree completely with him that the lower contrast version of yours carries the greater story for me. Dec 6th
66 Dec 21 Reply Thanks Palli...here's version 2 of the concept of 'Apparitions'. What do you think of this one? Dec 6th
66 Dec 21 Comment Thank you Jack...very helpful observations. I am trying to upload new and controversial images in IR so as not to just put forward images that are straightforward or that have already done well in competition. Try out the attached one as an alternate view of "Apparitions" and let me know what you think. I believe the gate is necessary...at least in this version. Dec 6th
66 Dec 21 Reply Thank you Arik...very helpful observations. Just for fun, I'm attaching a Version 2 of the concept of Apparitions...this one in color. What's your take on it? Dec 6th
66 Dec 21 Comment Hi Emil,

I like it! Your 'flipping' works very well for my eye. One thing is bothering me with the total composition, and I don't think you can improve this without a return trip to your local park. The mid-ground water consumes a third of the composition without adding a great deal on this moody day. A slightly lower camera angle would have narrowed the water and made for a stronger overall result in my opinion.

66 Dec 21 Comment Greetings Palli...

I really like the geometry of this composition. Yes, the white stroke on the border adds value in my opinion. I'm torn as to whether or not I'd prefer a bold black and white to the warmer version you've presented to us. Nicely seen...really like the white foliage in the b/g acting as a foil for the architecture!

66 Dec 21 Comment Hi Arik,

The quality of your post-processing and your decisions along the way make this one very interesting to my eye. The coloration is really unique, and that's why I really like it. Well composed. I also think you've handled the Levels superbly. Well done.

66 Dec 21 Comment Hi Melanie,

I find this one simple and effective. I have a real sense of place, vastness and calm and quiet...at the moment. Africa isn't always so serene.
