Why, thank you Michael. I appreciate your comments, especially coming from a member of another DDG. Infrared, in my view, is simply another photographic tool in the bag...but often, the effects are stunning. |

Hi Emil,
What a wonderful scene, full of dramatic monochrome. However, I wanted even more! In the attached version, I did three things: Added a dark ND filter to the top of the sky area, applied Detail Extractor for cloud detail and added the Darken/Lighten Center preset from Color Efex Pro. Basically--three DXO NIK presets from Color Efex Pro. To my eye, it's even more dramatic. What do you think? |

Hi Palli,
I agree with Emil's comments and version. The detail in the lead tree is just superb. |

Stunning, Charles...an award-winning image in my book.
Here's what it looks like with Detail Extractor applied to it from Color Efex Pro (DxO). See if the plug-in adds value to you in the impact. |

Hi Jack,
You went with 'bold' and 'contrast' on this one...I like it! Indeed the textures, the blacks and the whites are impressive. With the bulk of the image on the right, I personally think the image 'reads' better flipped as Palli has suggested. |

Hi Melanie...
Wow! Subject and post processing make this one of the finest images I've seen of yours! Having said that, I wonder if you might consider the cropped version I'm attaching. To my eye, it offers better balance to the large are of white in the lower rh 25% of the image. |

Greetings, Arik,
I'm totally captivated by the scene and the composition. I find the partial toning at the bottom and on the pathway to be quite confusing, however. Wonder why you simply didn't go with a complete monochromatic rendering of this superb scene? Also, I'd Content Aware Fill those blown out highlights upper rhs. Lastly, more detail in the leaf structures would add to the impact in my view. |
