Thanks Jack...my concept was to keep the contrails at the bottom to signify all the chaos on Earth right now, then the crossed contrails at the top to signify 'crossing over' from Earth's atmosphere to outer space. Maybe too cerebral? I'll try the crop at the bottom and see how I like it. Glad you enjoyed the originality of this...yes, it was "as seen". |

Hi Melanie,
You were 'seeing' very nicely when you composed this. I am troubled a tad by the tri-color...wonder if some other conversions to pure monochrome of perhaps a blue-ish sky and water might provide greater impact. On the existing image as you've presented it, I added contrast and thought it was improved...you might just try it. |

Hi Emil,
Before reading Jack's comment and viewing your revision, I had a go at this one with both Silver Efex Pro (Antique Plate I), then Color Efex Pro (Duplex). I think we're on the same wavelength...the image just needed some drama to take it from a record shot in full sunlight to something with more impact. Have a look and see what you think. The benefit of Duplex, in my mind, is that it allows a bit of diffusion...you have a fair amount of noise in the image overall I think. |

Magical, Palli!
I totally appreciate and feel the nighttime impression you wanted to create. The foreground boats make the image work for me and keep it from being too simplified with too much water in the foreground. Your use of Darken/Lighten is spot on. Well done! |

Hi Charles,
I really appreciate and enjoy this image. I do like the crop as well. There's a wee wee bit of banding near the top of the mountains on the right as you replaced the sky, but that's pretty minor in my book. This has terrific IMPACT at first glance! |

Arik...masterful. Brilliantly composed and post-processed. One of the finest color IR's I've seen in a long time! |

Hi Jack,
Immaculately processed and wonderfully toned. Perfection all the way 'round in composition, sharpness and post-processing. My only thought...not a criticism...is that I'm unsure how IR has added value to this scene vs. a conventional capture and conversion to monochrome? |
