Thanks Charles...your thoughts echo several of our other members. I'll go back to the drawing board and see what I think of reduction in the halo. |

Hi Emil,
Wow...you sure captured that mood you were striving for! The range of tones here create what you wanted. My only critique is that I would split the difference in the crop with what you gave us and what the original captured...it's a bit too tight at the bottom for my liking. |

Hi Palli,
I like the composition very much. Is it sharp in the master version? If so, my only suggestion is to remove the mailbox/fixture in the front drive to the home. Good use of IR for an otherwise conventional or traditional subject. |

Greetings Charles,
Love it! I'm just led right down the road with a simple, well executed composition. I do wonder about either contrast or sharpening...the overall image looks a little 'crisp' to my eye and might need to be softened down a bit. Contrast lowering would seem to be the easiest way to do that. The toning and those light streaks on the road...wonderful! |

Hi Jack,
GREAT subject matter for IR! I can't get past the soft focus front leaf frond and wonder what it would look like with that one tack sharp and focus falling off behind it? |

Hi Melanie...beautiful scene, so serenely captured! I'm confused, however...was it shot in IR, then colored in, or is just the sky infrared and replacing the conventional sky? I don't feel that IR has added significantly to the scene, and the version in a normal color capture would seem to be superior in my view. Even so, wonderful composition and capture! |

Happy New Year Jack...and thanks for your critique. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one as I created the aura and effect I was looking for. I sincerely appreciate your view of it, however, and reminding me we don't all see the world the same way! You and I have two different ways to depict the IR scene...and neither is always right or always wrong. Thanks again for the explanation. |
